Summa's plotters have a tangential head while Graphtec's (in my experience) are typically drag-knife cutters. However, Graphtec plotters can be set to emulate tangential cutting. More importantly, Summa (also in my experience) offers much better technical support.

Unless it's needed on a daily basis, white ink is not worth the maintenance effort. Also, it took a lot of ink and time to achieve opacity. We got rid of white. As for the metallic, it was really interesting but rubs off with light pressure. UV printers may be a better option.

Summa equipment is very reliable and accurate in my experience. Their tech support is the best of any company in any industry I've dealt with as well.

Does it still give the error if you draw and convert a rectangle to make the marks versus having the plug in do it?

have you tried adjusting the kerning? I think the handles you're referring to adjust the starting point around the circle and position on circle (inside the path, or outside the path.) Good Luck!
