I just upgraded from X3 to X5 In the middle of last week. I kept X3 on the machine just in case I had any problems. X5 ran good the few times I tried it last week. Today I came in early and deleted X3... now X5 runs even better. Everything loads quicker. It also did the update automatically...
If you have access to the Roland webinars I would suggest the "Tips & Tricks - Principles of Color Management." It is very interesting and from what I can tell if you have a Roland you should be working in AdobeRGB.

We have an XC-540 and love it. We do not have the room to have a separate cutter, so this was the perfect machine. If you have the room, I agree with everyone else, get a separate cutter and increase your work flow.
