Tim, We don't print from Omega except to our Edge FX, so I can not say on the color palette. We have a Roland, and I just drag the eps files into their Versaworks rip software. Sorry, I am not more help.

We also went from 2.5 to 4.0 a while ago. We had problems with serial to usb, and the whole Windows 7. That is all fixed now. But I never got that error message. I would suggest uninstall and then reinstall. If that does not work, try Omega support. It cost a little bit to talk to them...

So I installed X6 and when I try to use the Acquire Image, the options are not available. It's like it does not see the scanner. But, it will print to the printer just fine. Oh, I have a printer/scanner combo, that would probably help. Did not have this problem when I went from X3 to X5, but...

If you are using the outline tool it will do that on some fonts. If you use the contour tool and do outlines with it, you will get solid outlines, then making it much easier for contour cutting. A little tip...after you use the Contour Tool (I think it is ctrl+F9, or under window, dockers)...

If you are using versaworks as your rip.... once you double click into the job settings, under printer controls, at the top under general, select Use Custom Settings, then tell it to overprint 2 times

Man, I hope this is a good client or they are paying for all the design time. Sorry the seal I had was not much help, but like I said we always print it and that is the art that was given to us by the state....which means they actually paid someone to make that with all of those strokes...

So I just got off the phone with Corel, and since I just bought X5 in January, they are sending the upgrade for X6. It only cost 25 plus shipping. So it turned out to be 33 and some change. I thought that was pretty nice.

I just bought X5 last month....any chance they might do an upgrade for free or discounted for people who just bought it?

I agree with Gary on this... That being said, if you are short on space as we are, then a dual printer/plotter will work. We have a XC-540, I just have to plan ahead and let clients know the time frame. If we had the space I would get a separate plotter. Also, :Welcome:
