I imagine any such feature would be controlled by the RIP. The Flexi RIP has a "high-speed" feature. So, unchecking it would slow down the carriage if you had that enabled.

That feature is available in Flexi as well. Frankly, I don't know how one could function without it.

Hexachrome ink sets that include orange and green inks are available for many printers, including the JV3.

WrapperX touched on some great points. Try printing CMYK swatches of something like 0/40/100/0 and add magenta in small increments until you reach a suitable orange.

For a couple of our clients, I print black on clear vinyl and mount it to clear plastic. We've even applied the clear prints directly to the screen in-house. I crank the inks up and print at 720x720 16 pass. We're using a JV3.

Right on Wrapper X. I hope you get everything straightened out. You can salvage the manifold adapter from an old head as well. Next time you replace a head, keep the manifold to use in a pinch.

You can run 4-color on a JV3-160S by simply using two heads. The LmCm head remains dormant. In Flexi you can effortlessly toggle between between 4- and 6-color by changing the profile from CMYKLcLm to CMYK in the Advanced tab.

Also, I seem to recall that pre-v7.5 (I think), Flexi did not support CMYK gradients--only RGB and maybe Spot Colors. Also, RGB is the default gradient color mode. So, if you are working with anything but RGB swatches, you will need to specify the matching gradient color mode. Otherwise...

Do you have the gradient color mode set to match the color mode of the swatches? I use a custom CMYK swatch table, set the gradient mode to CMYK and my printed gradients match exactly.

The first thing I would do is print an acceptable swatch of each color that makes up the gradient and save the colors in your swatch table. You'll never print a good "black to Arlon Dove Gray" gradient if you can't print black and Dove Gray. Then, in the Advanced Tab of the Gradient Editor...

Wow, that's strange. I was printing both the Trisolv and Postermax at 720x720, 16 pass bidi on a Mimaki JV3 and still couldn't get good results with the Trisolv. The Postermax isn't perfect by any means. At what temp(s) are you printing?
