  1. short tshirt run

I really don't have a problem with some of the cut heat press materials, they have a better hand than some of the screen printed shirts out there. That being said OP, you might have to get a digitally printed heat transfer to get some sort of longevity to a short run process. Either that or...
  2. Man, House Industry fonts are a rip off!

I get it. You make a font, you want to get what it's worth ... But the shear liscensing is horrible for those fonts. This is the 3rd time this year a customer calls me up seeing if I can do work for them ... only their stuff is all most all house industries b.s. I priced out what it would...

  5. Website

Inline css coding and table layouts should be illegal.
  6. Jeep Wrangler graphics or wraps you've created

Most of the ones I've done have been the bottom door skirt (usually of local area ... here it's the rock line at palu duro canyon) and your average hood tongue and top of windshield slogan. Did a half wrap a few years ago that I was half proud of ... made it look like the paint was peeling...
  7. Website

Your work won't get you a take down notice or some sort of intellectual property cease and desist if that is what you are asking. ... it's just a crappy clipart collection I myself have had since the late 90's. Your main problem with the site is how much the graphics suck. I just looked at...
  8. Why the frack would anyone pay $32k for a domain.

Well, we aren't talking about a name like wallstreet.com which has a multi regional impact on the name or something nice and simple like hotels.com We are talking about a domain that in a city of 100k people will have a direct link impact at the most. I've negotiated domains for $400-500...
  9. Why the frack would anyone pay $32k for a domain.

Man! I went to register some domains since I let a few expire ... just out of curiousity, I inquired on 5 domains that are dead ... just still registered. The cheapest one someone wanted to sell was $12k ... the most expensive was $32k. ALL of them local domains (AmarilloWhatever.com or...
  10. Is there a way to auto nest multiple objects inside one shape?

In illustrator, the only way looks like that ecut script. They have a demo of the nesting software http://illustrator.e-cut.ru/index.php?view=article&id=58 so it might be worth it to play with. But the only real way in illustrator is to do it manually. Pretty nice little script too ... If I...
  11. Farming out jobs

It's worse in other area's of texas ... here, temp signs have to have a permit ($35?), and can only be out for a max of 6 months and be on private land only. (except if you're doing political signs ... that is free and have to be gone 30 days after the election) Anything else is a fine. ...
  12. Ain't gonna do that anymore either!

My big list of no usually consists of just stupid stuff LIKE ... stripping vinyl off of a garbage acrylic face that is half broken because the person wants to save $50 but will spend an extra $25 in labor on me trying to make it clean-ish. Policy now, buy a new face or strip it yourself. ...
  13. Farming out jobs

Expect nothing in return if you do find a shop you like the work from. It's a business not a charity. Why would they send you smaller jobs that they can batch out with their big jobs. Find a shop that will do wholesale production for you (expect only 10-20% discount on their prices...
  14. Customers are so ignorant...

I don't care about educating the customer. If it helps them not be complete idiots who want 'stickers' for their sign .. then all the better. Personally I would have probably told him where to get the sign face blanks that were closest to my shop (here, it's Dallas) and sent him on his way...
  15. how to make big dot halftones??

Omega isn't good for this. It's like trying to cut wood with a screw driver. Most manual halftones don't actually create circles ... more like pixelated representation of halftone circles. Illustrator one filter a company made called phantasm which looks like it has a marvelous halftone...
  16. how to make big dot halftones??

That is about what I charge a shop, and I don't lose half my money to fiverr.com.
  17. Ain't gonna do that anymore either!

There is a lot I don't do anymore. Jobs that seem like they would end up with you cussing and punching a wall ... most likely will. Not worth your time or energy. Even if you take down the new stuff and hand back the old stuff ... you're out your time you could have spent being more...
  18. Pricing 4x4 signs?

Jesus. At $40 each on coro ... I would need to sell 50 at that price just to make it worth my time. maybe if they also bought a bunch of other stuff too or were repeat customers i would sell it to them at that ... maybe.
  19. Need to recreate this in a high resolution version

It can be done in vector format ... though, I would hate to see the man hours on it making it look exact since it's a mesh tool piece of art. .. I would be looking at 5-12 man hours on that one to recreate it ... it's doable ... just not $60 doable. ;)
  20. Critique welcomed. Franky design.

Thanks, next is Dracula .. Thinking of a lounge lizard sort of portrait on that one.
