  1. HELP! Mimaki JV33-160 leaking ink

First thing you need to do, is turn off your printer, and remove the maintenance panel on the left side. Put a BUNCH of paper towels in there on the bottom. Slide the head over there like you are cleaning it. To remove the head cover if you havent done it before, there are two small phillips...
  2. HELP! Mimaki JV33-160 leaking ink

It does sound like a damper has sprung a leak. I'd replace them all, think about a capping station too while you are at it. How old is it, and have you replaced them before?
  3. Worst Tech Support Ever!!!

So, why not just use the rip that came with the printer all of the time?
  4. JV33 owners?

Oh, and that big streak of magenta... yeah, that's when I got the ink flowing and didnt have everything put back together..... :) I am going to leave it there as a reminder.
  5. JV33 owners?

Ok, don't laugh.... made this quick fix to see how it would work after swapping to ss21. So far, it doesn't even smell as bad as printing banners on the es3 did.. So I am happy. Not bad for less than 200 bucks in parts and coroplast. Changing the inks out turned out to be tricky, I learned...
  6. Salam Alikom from Saudi Arabia

Welcome from Alabama. :) Also, since I grew up in Manhattan, Kansas... I have to say "Go K-State, beat those Jayhawks" to you. Welcome to the forum, you will love it here.

    bump, please?
  8. JV33 owners?

Hey, I'm swapping from ES3 to SS21, and building a ventilation system for it. Could any of you who have one post a few pics of the enclosure around the prints? I want to see how Mimaki did it, and compare that to how I am thinking of making mine. The pics online aren't exactly useful. Any...
  9. give feed back on new logo

Kind of hard to read. Keep at it though, not bad place to start. I have definitely done worse :)
  10. Lazy man's dibond sign installation?

lick the back and just slap it up there :) Depends what surface you are going to. Maybe VHB tape.
  11. Banner Sewing

If you can get a commercial juki for 1k, thats a bargain, we just spent 2500 for a singer 300w. It will pay for itself in no time, as you will be able to start sewing awnings and banners for other shops in town too. :thread:thread Anyone wanna post pics of your sewing room? Getting ours set...
  12. Screw you 3M.

probably a stupid question, but I havent ever seen or used the 290. Is it as thin and stretchy as the 8518? (ie. good for window perf as well?)
  13. Screw you 3M.

I'm using about 2 rolls of ij35-10c a week, and swear by the stuff. Occasionally I will use IJ40-R and always cringe when its time to buy a roll of 180. I checked out the pricing on Oracal's 3751 today, and it's very competitive. Oracal is PROUD of that 290 laminate though.. and I love working...
  14. Screw you 3M.

I'm leaning toward changing vinyl as well. That's some BS.... if we arent careful, we will all end up making banners in walmart.
  15. Well, I guess tables are a shop tool... post yours?

We are growing... which is a good thing... and I am about to buy a double chain stitch machine for the amount of banners we are producing. So... i need a new production table. I am thinking 5' wide and 16' long... with a gated section we can add/remove the sewing head in and out of. I have...
  16. This should be an easy one, but cant find it.

    That works!!! Thank you :)
  17. This should be an easy one, but cant find it.

Whatthefont cant find it either, but i see it on athletic stuff all of the time. Any ideas?
  18. Inexpensive Air-Release Vinyl Options

Paying 220 a roll here for IJ35-10C... Maybe I should give the oracal a shot, but really like the 3M stuff. I use r-tape calendared laminate, and together they seem to work well in most applications. I wouldnt ever wrap with it though. Get both from Grimco. Might need to do a little price...
  19. Recommend Profile Settings For Window Perf jv33 oynx

I always double strike the perf, you'll never match colors exactly, because so much of your image is washed out in the window. If you go to clearfocus's website they tell you to double strike... I did play around with ink saturation one afternoon, and came up with something closer, but it took...
  20. Help clear coat peeled off during decal installation

Whenever I do vehicle spot graphics or wraps, I always tell my customers that I can't guarantee any paint or bodywork. I've seen bondo get pulled out of dents before.... if an aftermarket paint and body shop did the work on his car, there's no way you can guarantee their work was solid. His...
