  1. Aluminum or Steel Sign Blanks

I'm not sure why you'd use steel but... Grimco sells aluminum banks at very decent prices.
  2. HD Video Camera Recommendations

What's your budget? You're probably looking for a dedicated video camera but... I have a Canon 5DII which is a DSLR still camera but it also records HD video, and does an amazing job at it. Here's a website with more info about using the 5D for video. Canon also has a few lesser...
  3. Where do you get the Digital LED Signs?

We use WatchFire or Daktronics. For billboards though, I'd certainly recommend Daktronics. Some people don't like Daktronics because some of their reps would sell direct to the end user. I've never had that issue from Dak. Our rep is a real stand up guy and will go the extra mile to ensure...
  4. using just CMYK Color... possible?

I don't know about the Pro2 but... When you go 4 color only on the Pro3 machines you have a CCMMYK ink set. So you'd still need a Magenta cartridge in the Light Magenta slot, and a Cyan cartridge in the Light Cyan slot. It's not like you can just remove the LC and LM cartridges and the printer...
  5. X5

I usually get every upgrade but I might wait this one out. I've transitioned over to using Illustrator more and rarely use Corel anymore. I'll end up getting it eventually though, I hate getting the "This file was generated in a new version of Corel" message. Windows 7 runs great on Fusion...

What are your current cut settings?
  7. ISA in Orlando 2010

I'll be there Thursday - Saturday. We should all wear some Signs101 gear so we can identify other members. I just looked at the online exhibitor directory and sure enough Fellers isn't listed. I suppose they just don't have the budget this year. Kraig, the ISA show is always during spring...

  11. Exposed Neon C/L Mounted to Dimensional Back Panel

You may want to look into the book mentioned here: http://www.signs101.com/forums/showthread.php?t=62259
  12. VersaWorks won't cut!

You may have to check "cut all paths" in the print queue settings. However I don't think that's gonna help you. I think if that's checked it'll cut all the vector paths in the file, not just the ones defined as a contour. Unfortunately that's all I got for you. I'm sure you've set it to...
  13. Exposed Neon C/L Mounted to Dimensional Back Panel

The Green panel is the face of the wire way. The green section is actually 5" deep. The channel letters, however, are mounted with a 1" stand-off to allow light to "halo" around the letters.
  14. Exposed Neon C/L Mounted to Dimensional Back Panel

Wow! That's a nice little project you got there. I'd probably make the wire way a little deeper so it's easier to work with. Maybe 4-5" deep. HERE is a photo of a sign we did that has a similar construction. The difference is that your channel letters will have clear faces and be flush...
  15. Exposed Neon C/L Mounted to Dimensional Back Panel

C/L = Channel Letters Sounds like this sign consists of channel letters with clear faces (exposed neon) mounted to what we'd call a wire way. We make our wire ways out of 2" X 2" aluminum tube then skin it with .080" aluminum and an .063" aluminum return.
  16. Beverage of choice?

Well I'm not much of a drinker, so I like to enjoy... - Starbuck's White Mocha - Sweet Tea (very sweet) - Orange/Pineapple Juice
  17. Book Review: Inside Sign Design: How to Design Interior and Exterior Signage

This is too funny Rick. I too purchased the e-book and I told Mike (the author) I'd have to right up a review to post on Signs101. I guess you beat me to it. As Rick said, this book is awesome, and anyone who works (or wants to work with) electric signage must have at least one copy. This book...
  18. Emergency Help! IP addresses?

The computer and printer cannot have the same IP address. The first three sections of the IP need to be the same, but the last section needs to be different. For Example: Computer = 192.168.0.1 Printer = 192.168.0.2
