A third vote for semi-gloss. We stopped using One Shot for backgrounds a few years back due to chalking - we now exclusively use BM semi-gloss latex and haven't had any adhesion issues. Don't use matte, though!

Just remember that your old version 5 won't be able to open the new version 8 files directly...(although 8 will open 5 files)

You really need to consult an accountant... the small cost could save you a lot of headaches...

I found BobCad's high pressure salesmen a complete turn off.

If you comparing the Edge to the thermal Rolands, such as the PC60 or PC600, then the Edge is more expensive machine-wise, but less expensive output-wise. Also the Edge is considerably better built - the general consensus is that the Roland thermals are dogs.
