I would be selling 1,000 1 1/2 x 4 on vinyl with UV for about 300.00.....Now I use a US source and my costs will run about 160.00 or so.... I do not know if you are close to Calgary or Edmonton, but both have trade printers.....And I am sure they can turn them within a week....

Or find a trade printer that has a press like an HP Indigo an can print on waterproof substrates and do a UV coating.....

some are pad printed......

The Vancouver Police were able to do a lot with cell phone video after the Stanley Cup riots.....But there is a high cost for this technology and not every police force will pursue it.....

Which Kwik Ship decals are screen printed?.....I thought all their Kwik Ship stuff was done on an HP Indigo press these days...

It is done with an offset press.....Either a separate press just for the UV or on a multi colour press than can print 5 or 6 colours.....

If you want the prototype to be representative of the final product, it should be produced the same as the final product.....Last time I did a prototype like this, it cost me less than 75.00 from the label company......So even though it is a prototype, IMO is not worth messing around with in...

For all the effort you are putting in to this, you might as well send it to Lancer Label or Stickerman.....Both do a great job of printing full colour (with white if required) on clear material.....

"Close" is one of those terms that may mean something different to you and your client....A few years ago I had a client order some key tags and asked for gold....I gave him a metallic gold and he wanted a gold closer to the Edmonton Eskimos which I called yellow.....

I have at least 20 different shades of ivory envelopes in my sample box.....Probably best to start with a sample from your client.....
