I find a color that's close and make a 1"x1" box with that color in it. I put another box beside it with the same fill only this time I make some adjustment. I repeat the process until I feel I have enough swatches to hit the color I'm looking for. I also number each box so that they're...
Good. This is one job that you don't mind having someone watch over your shoulder. Seriously, if that things is air born and there's a problem with the install...
Hard to say without seeing the existing vinyl, but I'd probably just leave it on and wrap over it.
What exactly do you mean by stripped? Of existing graphics? Hardware?
Carefull, Lots of thinga-ma-jiggy doodads on a copter. Especially on the belly. Make sure the pilot and mechanic sign-off on the install and make sure no sensors get covered up.
The memjet might now be available yet but this thing is.

The company my brother works for just picked one up.
I usually just use my thumb. Note that using this process can sometimes cause bubbles right where the laminator takes over. you can avoid this by pulling back on the vinyl just a bit. I like to squeeze both hands around the vinyl and the roller and pull back just enough to release any air...
Here's how I do it. I usually make my prints slightly bigger than the substrate. So a 4x4 would be printed at 4.25x4.25. Place the print on the substrate and centre it. Use 2 spring loaded clamps to hold the print in place (make sure the clamps have padding so they don't ruin/scratch the...
Use a removable vinyl with "floor graphic" rated lam. The lam needs to have anti-slip properties other wise people will be killing them selves on the dance floor. Floor graphic lam is usually textured and thick which makes it super easy to apply.
I've bought a few stands from Vantex Supplies in Surrey. Not sure how much they get used but I haven't heard any complaints (knocking on wood). Prices seem fair.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone from me!!!!
This forum is a great place to learn, to teach and of course to be totally entertained all the time. I love this place.
Cheers to the end of 2010 and the beginning of 2011!!! I hope everyone has a safe and fun Holiday Season.
Interesting. I'll have to give that a try.
While we're at it, does anyone use there laminator to apply premask to cut vinyl? I always end up with wrinkles in the release liner so I don't even bother trying anymore. Am I missing something?
Older post but I figured I clue you guys in on what I decided. After much consideration, I decided to go with the Triad. Although I'd love a Miller, I just can't justify it for my needs. The Miller require far more space plus you need to have other things like an air compressor and 220v...
I used to work in a shop that had an 80" laminator. The static build up on that thing was insane. You could actually see blue comets shoot out from the take up roll. I used to always get the new guys to come over to "give me hand". As soon as they got anywhere near that machine the sparks...
