    XC-540 bad head?

    Cyan and black both problematic. Have you had a tech diagnose it? I would do an Ink Fill Pattern test from the Service Menu to get more information. What do the actual Nozzle Test prints look like?

    First off, I would recommend updating to the latest build... http://www.flexisign10.com You should also Load the Default Preferences using the Preferences Manager, or load a previously saved working preference file.

    If you upgrade to 10 from whatever version you have, you would receive a new USB dongle for version 10.

    What port was it on when the cutter responded? As for the gibberish, I believe there is a MODE 1 / MODE 2 option in the command menu on the cutter.
