Send it back. I'm pretty sure they are servo driven, but it might have a chipped gear or tooth. If they are belt driven, maybe somethings gotten in the teeth? Something is throwing it off and you might have gotten a lemon. You should not have to deal with those kinds of issues with a new cutter...

Hey John, make sure your color has the Gray backer, the color won't shift then. Or tell them in the future that lighter colors without the Gray backer will make the color shift.

Looks like your blade holder. We "fixed" a blade holder a few months back, noticed that the bearing that the top of the blade swivels on was really dirty and had a "gritty" feel to it. The cutter was "dragging" the blade sideways on the diagonal cuts. I took a can of air to it and a drop of oil...

100% a profile issue. And it depends on the type of file your printing.

Have not had that problem with our 1204. Where are you getting your cartridges from are they old stock?

First inspect the cutting strip for excessive ware. If it's got a grove in it replace it, or in a pinch peel it up and flip it over.

what software are you using and where did you buy your graphtec from?

We have our 1204 wired through our router. I tried to install two nic cards on the same computer and it drove me nuts trying to get them to play nice.

Had the same problem when installing 8.1 on a vista machine, it's a no go and will not work. 4 years ago when vista came out sai did not have updates or fixes other then upgrading to the 8.5 version. As I remember only 8.5/6 will work with vista not sure about 7 but I would guess it will not...

the r tape clear smells really bad! the clear transfer rite has allot less static too just not enough tack for us on cut vinyl, we stick with the r tape 4075 rla with great results.
