  1. Think Twice About Using Signwarehouse!!!

We have used them for the last 10 years for equipment and a few supplies and just bought a new print and cut sut-up a few months ago. I can say that knowing the reps on a first name basis I have always been treated more then fair. Never had an issue with wrong items or mishaps and their tech...
  2. Cutter is skipping.

Sounds like it's the bearing's in the blade holder. We had one doing the same thing, skipping a dragging the blade accross the material. We cleaned the bearing and a drop of oil did the trick, even on a 1/2 worn plotter strip.
  3. large substrates

what part of WV are you located?
  4. Qe60+ Serial Port

I would say it's in the cable. From past experience running a serial cable to communicate with the cutter, the serial cable needs to be a null? modem cable. We sort of had the same problem with our old lynx. I tried 5 different serial cables but only after using the modem cable the cutter...
  5. Graphtec CE5000 Cutting Strip

Order a new one asap signwarehouse.com sells some of the graphtec parts. As a quick fix I would take the strip up, and use the back of the worn out one. It's not uncommon for them not to be centered, just put it back in the same position as you pulled the strip up. If you have some banner...
  6. oracal 3268 3 mill wall graphics

We have been having problems with the stuff falling off the walls too :frustrated:. Our roll of 3268 will sit in the corner when the GMI material gets here from imprintables, thanks Mike! Can't wait to give it a try!
  7. Van Lettering... yeah, it's a scam...

Yup, but we are in the western part of MD in the mountains. Email scammers are about as annoying and the phone solicitors, they deserve a **s woopin' too! I used to work for a shop in Rockville and they got 4-5 a month.
  8. Van Lettering... yeah, it's a scam...

LOL, we got one of those last week but without the pics. Same name, same general scope of work, same scam.

  10. Flexi-Sign...who uses it? Poll??

We started out with LXI master back in 97? only for vinyl cutting. Upgraded to Flexi 6? working with Corel then to went to 7.6 pro for cutting and printing with a thermal printer. We have been using Flexi Pro 7.6 Pro on 2 Window XP machines for the last 4 years. Working with vectors we have not...

  13. I need to pick one! Please help!

I hear what your saying petesign but first we need to get some sort of cost efective digital print equipment with the option to cut. We can still sub out the lamanated stuff and when we get to the point where it's cost efective to buy a laminater then we will buy one. That's why we are at...
  14. I need to pick one! Please help!

I guess the big squegee will work for most of our work. And that means that the media will have to be taken out of the printer before it's cut. I will not be the only person working with this equipment, so it still needs to be a simple and straight forward workflow.
  15. I need to pick one! Please help!

Thanks again for the input! I was 90% sure we were going with the Mutoh set up from SW today. My sales rep keeps sweetening the deal and is making it very hard to refuse. I do not want to chase my tail with color profiles, I have done that in the past with a Colorspan 72UVR and a old encad...
  16. I need to pick one! Please help!

Merry Christmas and thanks for all the replies! Insignia: In your opinion, what makes the mamaki better then the other two? Bay shore creations: Why did you buy the Roland over the other brands out there? isign: The big problem with the media is our closest supplier does not cut...
  17. I need to pick one! Please help!

Thanks for the input. How easy was the mutoh to set up? Any real problems with the whole process and how is the print and cut work flow working for you? for what we do I really don't think the lam is worth the space especially if we do the SW package. If something does require the lam then we...

Mostly wall decals, lots of stickers, local signs and posters. 95% of our business in internet based, we make a product and in a few months it starts to sell.
