  3. Roland start-stop during print HELP!!!!

ok. So I've bypassed the router and Im plugged into the printer directly. I printed the first panel with no problems. I'm on to panel # 2. It's printing ok without any "long"pauses. It does do this weird thing where it gets to the end opposing the capping station. Instead of stopping and...
  4. Glass for top of work table?

I got a piece of 4x8 x1/4" tempered glass. It's been here for years. Long before me. It does have scratches but they're no big deal. I've dropped stuff on it, stood on it and done all kinds of other things to it. It works great. I've been told that stainless steel blades don't scratch glass...
  5. Roland start-stop during print HELP!!!!

Wow, I wish I new what that meant and how to do it. I have restarted the router many times. Hopefully a by-pass will help.
  6. Roland start-stop during print HELP!!!!

I have a dedicated rip station. It's got a lot under the hood and I don't use it for anything else so I have a hard time thinking it's the computer. I also rip everything before printing so it's not versaworks. I decided to test the router. I was able to get a cable long enough to go...
  7. Roland start-stop during print HELP!!!!

My rip station goes into a linksys router and than out of that to the printer. It is also provides WIFI. Do you think that's the problem?
  8. Print and Cut Phototex

Don't know if this will work but try adding a 5 or 10 minute dry time in Versaworks and slow your printer down. You're probably still going to end up taking the same amount of time (+/-) but at least the machine is still working. Or - Shouldn't have a problem removing the middle pinch...
  9. Roland start-stop during print HELP!!!!

So my XC540 does this thing where it prints a bit, stops and than keeps printing, than stops, than prints more and so on. Kinda like a hick-up. I notice it usually happens on larger files. Sometimes the head will actually park itself and than go back to printing. There doesn't seem to be any...
  10. Worst "everything went wrong" order you've ever had?

A few stand out but this one job was hell. Had to install Chrome mirror cut vinyl on large glass panels and digitally printed wall paper in a newly constructed restaurant. I had 2 days to the job. Problem is, the restaurant is 5 hours away and it's February on the west coast of Canada. Of...
  11. Banding mainly in dark/black colors

Try turning the Pre and Print heat down and keep the dryer cranked.
  12. Liquid laminator or Hot/cold laminator

I'd go cold. Less BS to deal with and lower cost up front. Not a fan of liquid lam. Heat is good but I don't think it's really necessary.
  13. Banding mainly in dark/black colors

Are you using the RIPC profiles? If so, that will lead to increased banding, especially dark colors. Use the none RIPC profiles for stuff that you don't want any banding in.
  14. Green Basement Banners Business

I would think that you've probably learned a thing or two after 20 years in the biz. Only one way to find out. Best of luck. If it doesn't work out, I know a guy making a fortune selling mini donuts. I wish I was kidding but I'm not.
  15. Coro-Plane lift off Sunday

Don't forget the crash helmet! Good luck and I wanna see the freakin video!

  19. laminator issue

Are you putting your material on a core? do you use the centre of the laminator? Are you feeding the material in a straight as possible? Are you monitoring the tension of the vinyl going in? If you answer yes to these questions than your laminator is out of whack. You need to have even...
  20. Air Bubbles

Thank you Scarface. Yes technique is important, yes laying mask down properly is important, yes using the right material for the job is important but let's not forget (or overlook) the IMPORTANCE of a squeegee with a nice edge and no knicks. Seriously, no knicks. they create bubbles. I...
