Hey John, I got one to throw into the mix.
This one was way easier than my own project.
Edit: The kerning does need to be tweaked but, if you want this one I can give you the original as I could really use the write off.
You should sell the customer on doing these for decals to hand out to his customers. Those are pretty sharp. I would put one of those on my truck and I reserve that space for only really cool things.
Still need to make and scan some sketches. Couldn't stop thinking about this though and some of the things I saw in Pat's designs.
Is this better or am I still not there...
BTW: Actually going to attempt to get this client to hire Dan Antonelli but, I know he isn't going to make any fast...
Had that same thought. I have plans to order a few as soon as I take care of an outstanding debt I have with a member here who helped me. I am also signing up for design classes in the fall at either Florida Gulf Coast University or Ringling Brothers in Sarasota to get myself some proper design...
Pat you didn't step on any toes. I that you posted that as it gave me some inspiration for improving my design. I like the way you incorporated the ribbon element and the scroll work actually framing the entire panel looks way better than my corner accents and my lousy attempt at drawing a...
so the only cartoonized version of a devil has to be from Warner Bros? I was trying to give the OP the benefit of the doubt that he would know better from being here a while. Than to ask a very stupid question of looking for the WB version of the character by asking this group in the open.
Shouldn't we give the OP the benefit of the doubt that he might be looking for the animal not the character. There is a real animal called the Tasmanian devil.
It looks like a really large rat, they can be as big as a small dog.
Doug, I will post up some more sketches later today. My original drawing is covered in more doodles.
Like I said in my OP Gino, it was an idea I had and I was kinda seeing if the panel idea with my elements and basic idea of laying out the text was worth trying to improve upon or just tossing...
This was no joke. That is actually a pretty nice design. What fonts are those and where did you get the vectors?
I would love to experiment with something similar
Yeah, I could hire a designer to do that. Yet, how would I learn by doing that? If I ever hope to improve its going to mean making some lousy designs on the way till I start making decent ones. I would rather make lousy designs and toss them and improve myself than to give up before ever...
Here is a concept for a sign I have been working on. I sketched a rough idea on paper and was trying to see what it would actually look like in color vs. my doodles.
I know the fonts are all wrong. I just kinda threw them in there. (So please take that into account when you see Brush script) I...
That is wonderful Dan!
I have a client I really think should hire you for his logo and branding design. Your new Retro themes would work wonders for his identity. What is the best way to go about that?
I was on Steve C.'s website looking for a few fonts to purchase for an upcoming project. I was showing my client the font I would like to use for his new sign I am attempting to design and he really liked the background used on this image on Steve's site and the font. (See attached pic from his...
Next time your out hitting the pubs just look around for someone that would be better served with your design and try to sell em on it.
Sounds like it would be fun just trying to find the right pub regardless of the outcome of the design.
This is what I am talking about. You could make the panels yourself then using a variety of materials. http://signletterdepot.com/texas-track-for-030-sign-letters.html just cut the tracks to fit your needs.
I have done these for a bar to put up who was playing at different times.
