  1. Adding a third (cintiq) monitor to my setup.

1TB in five years? We're chewing through a TB every couple of months but I'm kind of an overkill guy and I keep everything. Careful with the RAID 1 it's still pretty easy to lose data compared to 5. Unfortunately the floods last year have doubled HD prices, last year was really the year to build...
  2. Corel Vs. Adobe....

During my years at an art museum my favorite exhibition every year was the curated show of all the K-12 art kids in the county. The high school art not so much, all terrible (high school emotions the world is awful everyone is a conformist but me etc.), but K-6? So much creativity and joy in the...
  3. Photoshop CS5.1 not giving TIFF as a format option

There's a big difference between printing customer supplied PDFs and being in a PDF/X workflow. The later is about the best way to achieve consistency throughout an operation but we're getting derailed just oh so slightly. We also require native files or files created to supplied specs. You find...
  4. Vote for us!

Cool :). Still has that certain "poser" feel that you can see from a mile away, way too burned out on it when everyone was making poser wallpapers with pirated software in the '90s. :P Maybe I would have preferred it more "flat" feeling and a bit beat up? IDK. Anyway great job, can't help myself...
  5. Flatbed Printer Installation!

    Zounds!
  6. Adding a third (cintiq) monitor to my setup.

You really need to get a NAS and additionally back it up fully to the cloud, your art is way too valuable to be half-assing it. A QNAP or Synology NAS in RAID 5 (or 6) and a service like Crashplan or Backblaze or even Amazon S3.
  7. Hostgator customer support good?

HostGator > Media Temple in about every way possible. Support is amazing, great staff, blah blah just use HostGator
  8. What do you need in designs??

    I'm all three :D
  9. Vote for us!

Done, love the labels even though I'm not a fan of the poser girl. She looks good, I just don't like poser ;P. The rest of it is fantastic and great execution.
  10. How about that TIM TEBOW?

I don't want my kid anywhere near football, I value not having concussions too much. Also what's left of Tebow minus the god stuff? Doesn't seem like much!
  11. daytime fireworks, who knew?

    Very very cool
  12. How about that TIM TEBOW?

It's like nascar, waiting for the wheels to fall off. At least you know you don't have to tune in until the 4th quarter to see any football played ;P. Something to do while Matt Flynn hands off to a RB for the next few weeks.
  13. Corel Vs. Adobe....

Liberal arts has a value beyond being a degree mill that's targeted at a specific job. The entire goal of a liberal arts school is to produce well rounded members of society, not just cogs who fit into a particular job. The history of liberal arts colleges is actually quite interesting, we treat...
  14. Corel Vs. Adobe....

Actually there is, it's called the design process, what you're getting at is if a graphic artist's vision sucks there's no tool or medium that will make it "unsuck". The difference is a trained designer has systems and iterative approaches to their craft and applicable historical knowledge which...
  15. HP L25500 Pros and Cons?

With the correct profiles backlit prints on a l25500 are gorgeous, it's one of the strong points of the printer. Shouldn't be seeing dull color either but yeah...flexi. :noway:
  16. How about that TIM TEBOW?

That's weird he's pretty much the last person I'd want as my kid's role model. Not that I think professional sports athletes should be role models regardless... What I want to know is why we're talking about Tebow and not how Marion Barber III cost Chicago the game with a boneheaded play and...
  17. When are you closed for Christmas / New Year?

Might want to check the laws, in many places you can't close and require employees to use vacation time for the closing.
  18. What do you need in designs??

Ah. Not really something I can answer. My company doesn't outsource design, but some here seem to. No one is going to hire blind though. It's a catch 22--Fred doesn't want you to post your portfolio without being a merchant, buying merchant is only worth it if there's an audience. Depends on the...
  19. How about that TIM TEBOW?

The Packers have run spread variations since McCarthy came into town, they used it heavily during 2007. There's typically a few spread snaps per game still. I just don't really buy into the option as viable for more than a few years in the NFL. If it does become viable long term then I'll be sad...
  20. SignVOX videos - need input

A sale walkthrough would be good too, pretend someone came in and ordered someone, walk through exactly what you'd do at the front counter.
