As far as I know you can take a night class at a community college and it would be perfectly legal to buy an educational version of Adobe software......And some time ago I looked into to an online class for an Adobe program and with registration you were also allowed to buy an educational...
In the past I just bought a copy of Creative Suite from the college book store, installed it and it worked...Only # the bookstore wanted was my CC#....
Some clients will get bothered if you ask them to do extra stuff to run their orders....Especially if you are not dealing directly with the graphics people....It just takes losing 1 or 2 clients that send their work elsewhere to recover the cost of keeping current...
Do the POs they give you specify a payment time frame 30 to 45 days?......And to me the followup call at 21 days is not specific to collecting, it is just another attempt to confirm there are no problems.....So you do not find yourself getting complaints months after the fact.....
Every single order I deliver gets a followup call in a few days to ask questions regarding quality control...Every invoice not paid in 21 days gets a followup to make sure they have the invoice and ask if there are any problems.....You need to make some drastic changes in your business...
The issue is not the pdf but rather the effects, etc. that Corel does not understand.....Adobe will keep updating their software to include stuff that Corel can not interpret...It seems to me they do not want their native files being opened in other programs....
So you have disqualified a potential client just because they want you to go to them?....Do you not work your territory and get out and about anyway?....
If you are out "selling" most locations you have to go to should be in your target area....And any requests like that should be tied to a sales trip and/or delivery into that area....
It seems to me many folks here are far too "passive" in getting and retaining business.....I get the impression a "few" have simply opened their doors and waited for business to come to them....
