Same here. Our clients were breaking them. H stakes get bent all the time but it does not destroy them and they never come back. Usually, people will just bend them back into shape and install them more carefully or find a softer spot.
The step on the side of the stake is some of the problem...
If you do any color matching, you should use Munsel gray and invest in daylight lighting. True Munsel gray is really expensive however so I take my Gretag Color Checker chart into the paint store and have them match the 3rd gray swatch on the bottom, the lighter medium gray.
MacServTech has a really good pro for latex that I did not mention. Fabric looks fantastic printed on a latex machine. It is a close rival to dye sub. This is an advantage for latex that no solvent machine can boast.
In regards to your original question, 1 of each is not the way to go. If you...
I personally have Epsons and they have been exceptional. The quality and color gamut on the Epsons edges out the HP however, the HPs print faster and do not require outgassing before lamination. The Epsons also have a larger variety of printable substrates I believe but they use a low density...
Does anyone know if this exists? I have a job that will call for several rolls of non slip floor lam. I could really keep the waste down if I can find a UL rated laminate that is 60" or over.
Has anyone used this product?
Sihl 3482 Smart Universal Canvas.
It is supposed to be a matte canvas that works with both solvent and aqueous ink. I normally use Sihl Picasso in my Epson GS6000s but my client wants a matte canvas. Any recommendations or endorsements?
It sounds almost like a versaworks issue. I work in 10 to 1 all the time without issue. Does your PDF export options include bleed? This could be throwing you off. I do all of my complex tiling in illustrator. Just in case this helps, here is my standard procedure.

Create an action to print the file, save and close. Choose File>Automate>Batch. Select your action, change source to opened files and destination to none.
Absolutely a profiling issue. You can either hire someone to come in an fix the issue on a case by case basis or splurge for software and training. Software and training will be a bigger hit up front but cheaper in the long run. Actually, I would strongly recommend against paying anyone who does...
I prefer macs for design and layout. The PCs are for ripping.
I think a better gauge would be to inquire about which people prefer. In which case, I prefer macs.
I have never used it but it looks like a simple spot color replacement tool. There is not a lot of information on the site about what exactly the program does. I believe versaworks already has a spot color replacement under "Named Color Settings". As to which is the more robust, I can not say.
It is a good book. As BBeens mentioned, it is really only good for understanding the theory of color management. Really, every book I have read on the subject is heavy on theory and light on practice.
These books are also good if you can find them.

If they want cheap, I say stroke the banner with a 1-4pt black outline. Use whatever shows up well on your printer. Trim off the outline with a pair of scissors. Voila! Cheap banner. Before you laugh, let me say that I can cut straighter with a pair of scissors than some people in my shop with a...
