  1. What about sidewalk wraps?

+1 for 3662 and 3647. 3647 is the best non slip lam I have used. It is impregnated with glass beads and has a texture similar to 20 grit sand paper. You can rest easy if you use this stuff. Unfortunately it is really expensive at over $3 per sqft.
  2. 48"x30" Magnet on a Van

Well it turned out to be a 2009 Ford Econoline 250. Looking at my templates, it appears that most of these have about 23" of flat area without any grooves I can use on the sides. I am going to recommend to drop the height down to 22" and let the width fall. Thanks again for all the helpful...
  3. 48"x30" Magnet on a Van

Thanks for the replies guys. I am glad I am not the only one that thinks this may not be safe. WrapperX, I like your analogy to the All State Guy. I am going to use it when we speak next.
  4. 48"x30" Magnet on a Van

I have a client who wants a 48" x 30" Magnet for a mystery van. I say mystery because when I asked what type of van, she said it was an escalade. I sent her a template of an escalade a mockup of the magnet covering 2 doors and part of the windows. After receiving the template, she replied that...

We have donated quite a few of these golf signs but I have always been told I can add my logo as a sponsor. As a matter of fact, I quite putting logos on donated signs about a year ago. I have never seen a single penny of business generated by a donated job. If anything, we will get more...
  8. Clear film?

Natura makes a solvent printable film that I have used. Unfortunately, I have only tested it on my flatbed and not with solvent. It is eco-solvent printable according to the manufacturer though. I was able to order it through Sabic Polymer Shapes. Its called SO800 ecosol clear polyester film...
  9. Sample files/advice for equip purchase?

A good test for print and cut capabilities on a router would be to print some vector paths with a stroke the same size as the router bit. I would try a mix of objects like stars, hearts and clouds. Have them set up the router to follow the cut line exactly without an offset (Engrave). If the cut...
  10. JPG / saturation question

As long as your resolution is pretty close to the target, you should be fine. Only in cases of extremely oversized images have I seen any problem with this. I once had a client submit an 8"x10" image of a brick building at 600 ppi that occupied a 1"x2" area of a brochure. The image when screened...

  13. any photoshop gurus out there?

What type of photoshop file are you importing? A photoshop eps file with illustrator set to link (probably the only option in version 3) will show you the eps preview and will look pixelated. If this is not the case, we probably need more info.
  14. GS6000 PMS Color Matching

ColorBurst has always been this way. You can change the ink restrictions or limits without having to reprofile. That does not mean that you should not reprofile or that your profile is still valid. Actually, I always found the non wizardry approach of ColorBurst to be refreshing. ColorBurst...
  15. cutting with a gerber on the cheap

Good for you! I am going to do the same. I have informed everyone unavailable and out of town. I am also toying with the idea of linux, inkscape and tux plot. Many of my fruitless google searches today led me in this direction.
  16. cutting with a gerber on the cheap

Signlab does not seem to bad at $500 but it the web site seems to be broken (for me) as far as finding supported cutters. If I can find the Omega software to install, I will contact Malkin. Thanks for your offer. Does the envision series use HPGL? Can I possibly cut on this machine by...
  17. cutting with a gerber on the cheap

I just bought a used Gerber Envision 375 for an extremely cheap price. It is in working order without software. Does anyone have suggestions on how I could drive this without making a $1000 dollar investment. I am not interested in design capabilities. I just need to cut vector files I create in...

I am still looking for a good used plotter and I have ran across these three offerings: Graphtec FC 5100-75 (Cosmetically ugly but was in production until the company went out of business. I was able to perform a test cut and go through all the menus with no problems) 2 Gerber Envision...
