  1. Help JV33 few different problems

Sounds like your 3rd party inks are drying too quickly on the heads between maintenance cleanings. Increase the frequency of your maintenance cleanings and it should keep the heads fresher. You never mentioned what kind of inks you changed from or too. If you went from eco-sols to a 3rd party...
  2. How can I use the 720 x 1440 setting on Mimaki Jv3

Don't listen to them. Higher resolutions look great on canvas. You can see the difference. Especially in color saturation and density. I run 1440x1440 32 pass on my JV33 (CMYKLcLm) and it looks phenomenal! Using the higher resolution offers a 60% increase in available color gamut. Using...
  3. Trying to decide between Summa or Versacamm

For a low use solvent inkjet machine I don't think there's a better option than the Mimaki JV-33. I picked one up about a year ago and have been really slow in getting my ass off the couch to go out and sell it (I took a year off work to re-charge the batteries). It will sit idle for a week to...
  4. Printer Problem

Your JV3 has multiple heads right? What colors print with what heads? It almost looks like both cyan and black have dropped out the more I look at it.
  5. Printer Problem

Then it looks like the cyan stopped printing. You have plenty of magenta. If grays turn red, cyan is out. If grays turn green, magenta is out. If grays turn purple or blueish, then yellow is out. You've done a nozzle check right?
  6. Printer Problem

Try re-ripping the panel. You're not lacking any magenta. If the background is supposed to be neutral gray it looks more like you ran out of cyan. Although the difference in gray tone (behind automotive) leads me to believe something may be wrong with the rip settings as it seems much darker...
  7. Question on New JV33

The 33 with the CMYKLcLm Eco-Sols is an excellent choice. It's my first solvent machine and I'm very impressed with the print quality and the machine's firmware and ease of use and maintenance. I produce a variety of products from cheapo banners to fine art reproductions and the quality is...
  8. edge to edge print

I'm not sure what it would be in Onyx, but with the Wasatch RIP you just turn off the process cut marks feature. It will probably be part of the cut feature of your print/cut rip.
  9. Arrr! (in the angry way, not the pirate way)

Adobe CS products will only use unfragmented disk space for virtual memory. If you have 50% of your hard drive space left, defrag the drive and your errors should disappear. Or just buy more RAM.
  10. Epson Pro GS6000 Printer

Your production speeds will use larger dots from any of the variable heads. The smallest dot sizes are typically only used with the higher resolutions/number of passes. The heads can only fire so fast and to lay enough ink down at the faster speeds and the lower number of passes requires a...
  11. Epson Pro GS6000 Printer

From Epson's advertising they say the inks are good for two years outdoors. Most eco-solvents are three years and mild and full solvents run up to 5-7 years. The color gamut from the Orange and Green additional inks is nice, but comparing the gamut from the profiles 3M listed on their website...
  12. Shelby Font

Anybody seen this as a font before?
  13. printing problem

If it's not heat then it's your ink limits. Too much or to little. I've seen banding occur with both. Stay away from doing your own profiling. It a huge waste of cash, time and materials. Who wants a neutral gray anyhow? ;)
  14. Is there a way to emulate mutoh weaving on a JV5?

    Write your own firmware.
  15. Onyx profiles for the JV5 - Why do they suck so much?

Did I disguise it too thinly?
  16. Hello from Chilly Alberta :0)

    Hello from Edmonton.
  17. Onyx profiles for the JV5 - Why do they suck so much?

Making your own profiles is highly overrated. I would strongly discourage ALL MY COMPETITION to forget about trying it. It's just a big waste of time and money.
  18. Fumes from JV33

Find a hydroponics store in your area. They usually have some great low cost solutions for removing odours from the air. I'm putting together a a unit that will do my production area for about $500. You might be looking at ~$2000 to do a 3000 sq ft area. Still much cheaper than the commercial...
  19. 20 mil glossy canvas....

Your canvas should have come with an information sheet that covers all that. Here's a link to the manufacturers site. Intellicoat is excellent about providing the information you're looking for. http://www.magicinkjet.com/product-list.html
