  1. Using i1 share > making LAB spot colors > making them work in CB

I used to use ColorBurst quite a bit but it has been at least 2 years since I have touched the pro version. Consequently, my terminology might be a bit rusty. My preferred method was to use device color for my custom spots. I would read a swatch with ProfileMaker's Color Picker application and...
  2. overlap on vinyl

I would warranty the product for 30 minutes. They can come in, take a look at the install decide if the seems line up and that is it. The choice of material, print process, out-gas time, installation method have been decided for you. Who is responsible for prepping the surface? I do not see how...
  3. What to buy?

Wait for the IPEX show later this month. I think there might be a couple of new entry level flatbeds announced.
  4. Looking faux wood...

Edit: Had my browser window open too long and did not see that Mach already provided my answer.
  5. RTL Viewer

I have a problem that I have tracked down to 1 of two areas. Through the process of elimination, I have determined that it is definitely not a problem with the printer. 1 - Either my RIP is having a problem and writing a grainy strip into my RTL file. 2 - Or my print controller is introducing...
  6. rgb...cmyk....so cornfused!...ugg

I am sure that many of us have RIPs that force us to rasterize. I have a few Onyx rips and I never trust them with PDF or EPS files. Overall, RGB will be your best bet when you have to rasterize. CMYK will reduce the gamut of any RGB data down the the gamut of your CMYK working space. When you...
  7. What best RGB setting for profilemaker

If you think that a neutral gray shifts appearance of the grey scale around the 1/4 tones, I would say yes. This will usually be the case with any paper with a noticeable color cast.
  8. UltraFlex Stip Mesh ICC Profile

Try using a ultraflex banner profile. Ideally, you want to find one with the same white point as your mesh. I do not think profiling mesh is really possible or accurate anyway.
  9. IJ170C has anyone used this?

IIRC 170C has the air channels running in 1 direction instead of 2. Also, it has the comply technology but not control tac. My installer did not like it for vehicle graphics because the lack of control tac made it hard to reposition. I was able to use my last roll for a wall mural without any...
  10. What best RGB setting for profilemaker

This is what I use. Profile size = Large Perceptual Rendering intent = Neutral gray Gamut Mapping = Logo Colorful Viewing Light Source = D50
  11. Pet peeves anyone?

I despise being called a "Vendor". Whatever happened to service provider?
  12. Need a "webbing" material for banners

I use nylon and polypropelene webbing from these guys. www.trivantage.com
  13. Can someone 'splain an .eps file to me?

An eps file is a postscript file with a image file embedded for preview purposes. Depending on the size of the eps, the preview can increase the file size significantly. This is probably why your vector file enlarged when you saved out as an eps. When you zipped the file, the file was compressed...
  14. Printing in Illustrator

Most laser printers do not do full bleed either. Usually we impose 2 up on 12x18 for full bleed and trim out.
  15. Star Trek = RGBY

I wonder if the yellow pixel is made up of tiny red and green "micro pixels".:Cool 2:
  16. ISA show in Orlando

I live in Orlando so there is no way I am going to miss this one. I hope to take off Friday but I will definitely hit the show on Saturday.
  17. Visible Wave in Prints

This is probably one of two things. Either your feed adjustment is off or your profile is over inking for the media.
  18. Got our GS6000

We just added our second Epson about 3 weeks ago. To date, I have ran approximately 20 - 25 substrates through the machine and created 15 custom icc profiles. I have not ran into any problems that proper settings and profiling would not fix.
  19. Keeping tabs on employees

How about one of those guys on the slave galley that beats the drum while the slaves row :P
  20. Decals on concrete floors in a warehouse????

I would try the 3m 3662 PSA with the 3647 overlam. The overlam is a very rough non skid lam. Flexcon Concrete may also be an option as would MacTac Street Rap. All are very aggressive and recommended for unsealed concrete surfaces.
