It is not uncommon for printers to have both horizontal and vertical resolutions. One of the numbers usually refers to the number of jets in the head and the other is the resolution of the x axis as the head passes along.
The XLJet on the other hand is a totally confusing beast when it comes to...
I have created a digital work order as a PDF form for my sales reps. They like the form in general but one thing I forgot is that Accrobat Reader does not allow saving changes to a PDF file. Is there an inexpensive alternative to reader that will allow my sales team to save PDF work orders after...
No production experience with these machines either but there are a few things that I would like to point out.
The Agfa machines as far as I know are made or at least developed by Dili and have been re branded by AGFA. Still this is a nice machine but I strongly ask myself what AGFA brings to...
Thanks for the offer but I already dodged that bullet. At the time, I hade just completed a job with no material left over. I was afraid I would have a reprint and no material.
This is a Pantone process coated number. All the colors in these books use only CMYK process colors and reflect swop press conditions. There should be no conversion necessary to CMYK if you have a file using this color. If you need to specify a color, Illustrator shows me a mix of 0,100,50,40.
I am looking for a full or partial roll of 54"-60" MacTac HTO in the Orlando area. Does anyone have some material on hand they are willing to part with?
I am actually running some of this material now. I generally have good luck with this product but I need to re-profile and adjust my ink limits and black generation. The reason is that if I print a heavy black, I occasionally see the ink stain the back of the print when rolled. Have you looked...
I would like to outsource this job somewhere but I am not sure where to begin looking. I would love any input from you guys. My client wants a few rolls of 2' x 250' continuous banner material printed with a repeating logo on 4.5 mil polyethelyne banner material.
The idea is to have these rolls...
Color management is never a light investment time wise or monetarily. Even though switching rips may be undesirable to you, $5k is not a lot to spend for a turn key system that does what you want reliably.
I personally use ProfileMaker Publish and an Eye-One which will run you about $2700 us...
Same here. 540x720 is my go to mode for every new media I profile. I have not felt the need to go higher on many substrates at all. I am still using Colorburst but I am switching to ColorGate within the next month.
Vans, when you did your first RGB test, what profile were you using? Have you looked at eciRGB? How much of a standard is it in your country? I see lower delta E values overall when I compare eciRGB to Adobe RGB.
Another option would be to define a custom spot color such as "Client Name Yellow" and set it up in your rip. Does your rip support this? It is unlikely that you will be able to reverse engineer a a cmyk color.
Copy your rips output profile to your computer and convert from your working profiles in the DTP application to the output profile you copied over from your rip. Edit the problem color to match the colors you want and rip this file with color management turned off on your rip.
Epson uses 1 ml per sqft as an average in their ROI calculators for solvent machines and 1.5 ml per sqft in the aqueous machines. This is a good starting point.
The only way to be absolutely sure is to keep logs and weigh your full, empty and partial carts to calculate your average.
