you can print on shinerite, it's got a blue backing. though i'd only suggest that for cheapy decal stuff. on the plus side it's super easy to weed once it's been heated and printed

smart objects are on the adobe side of things, think it asks when you import/place a vector. are you generating your contour cut before you take it to ps? it's easier to make afterwards.

pretty much how i do it. i think you can also ps filters in flexi within the bitmap menu. to aide with alignment, you could add a box outside of it all(away from your embellishments) then align x and y

patrick, use flexi in the last step for the rip and contour. photoshop'll fit in fine most anywhere before that step

pretty sure you can only skip one level per upgrade. so if you have cs3, might as well jump to cs5
