I ran into a nightmare with ACM from Grimco a month ago. I bought a skid of 150 Maxmetal DP. I went through about 30 sheets and 3 printheads from head strikes. I called them to return all of it. It was all bent up from them stacking pallets on top of each other. They sent out another 130 and...
Maybe the hydraulic line to go UP/DOWN is bad. Around here there is a company named Pirtek that will come to us to do any hydraulic hose repairs. I would get that line replaced, it could have a leak or be clogged or something.
If you don't want to build them I would suggest Steel Sentry. I bought a few tables and a corner desk a few years ago. I think these will last forever. They are fully customizable too. https://steelsentry.com/workbench-furniture/sign-making-table/
I've noticed that even ridged materials need as much vacuum as possible. Most are warped even though they look straight, and ridged materials are the ones that I worry about hitting the print heads. Especially when the print zone is warmer and can change the shape of the materials causing them...
Maybe I was miscommunicating the process for us.
-I start with trimmed blanks that we cut
-Load the printer and print one side
-Take the printed sign and reload for side two
-Take the sign to trim if needed (phonematic shear red thing in the photo that says One Up Signs)
-Round corners
-Add...
For this test yes. I am lightly scraping the surface. Do you know another method for a scratch test? I realize it's a pretty aggressive approach, but you can tell if the ink is coming off easier than it should by brushing over it lightly.
UPDATE
After going up to a 12 pass the ink is holding up much better. See attached for the photo that I scratched equally with a wire brush, 8pass vs 12pass. It takes much longer to print but the end product is much better. When I first got this printer, I thought I can print in 3 or 4 pass for...
12 pass is not scratching as easy as 8 pass. Looks like you may have found the solution. 12 pass is much slower but it will be faster than laminating them all. THANK YOU!
Hi Balstestrat,
Thank you for your response. I currently am using a 8 pass profile with the temp all the way up at 194 degrees. The overcoat maxed out at 3.
Are there any other suggestions on the other profile levels?
With real estate signs, not handling them while they are wet is impossible...
I am also getting scratches when I print the second side from the belt.
With ACM I have noticed that I have to let the substrate cool down to reload unless the print doesn't print correctly due to the ink drying to quickly in the print zone.
Hi everyone,
I bought this R1000 printer almost 3 years ago now. It has been great but I have been noticing that the prints have been scratching very easily. What I mostly notice it on is the real estate signs I print. I use Maxmetal Digital Print ACM. I almost always do double sided prints...
Do you have issues with ACM getting scratches? I use Maxmetal Digital Print and I get a bunch of scratches just transporting the material from the printer to the production table.
We have a 52" Pneumatic shear and love it. It also leaves a great edge on the ACM (no deburring or filing needed) Can't believe we used to use a scoring blade. :frustrated:
It cuts ACM and .040, .063 aluminum really well. It also cuts .080 aluminum but it cringe when it does it because it seems...
We do a lot of real estate signs and its like every small town real estate company uses the same logo. Company name with a roof and 4 square windows. PLEASE STOP!
I think i found the answer in one of your "Onyx RIP White Ink Workflow" video. In onyx job editor I changed the spot channel white to FLOOD FILL from Fill image area. THANK YOU!!!!
