  2. Suggestions Aluminum Cleaning

Denatured Alcohol with a microfiber towel. I think the microfiber towel is very important part of it.
  3. Anyone actively pushing “green” materials?

But it's not made from recycled correct?
  4. Anyone actively pushing “green” materials?

I'd be interested in an alternative to coroplast for yard sign. Especially for the signs that are only used for 30 days then tossed out. If anyone know of something please let me know.
  5. Post holes with a drill...

Wow the RPMs on that is way to fast to dig holes. I’d suspect you will break your wrists if you hit a rock. I wouldn’t trust it.
  6. .040 Aluminum for a building sign?

Don't use .040 for this application. Its to thin and will look very wavy. I would suggest doing a pan face with 2" returns out of .063 aluminum and having a butt seam in the middle. Installing with aluminum angle and screwing it in on the top and bottom of the returns. If they are on a tight...
  7. Discussion I've owned an HP R1000 since April 2019, ask me anything

Not sure if you do this but for example if I have 100 double sided signs to print I just send 200 and just flip the boards to keep it going so there isn't the reload process for the other side.
  8. best printer for yard signs

I can see a photo lab getting a R1000. They do great prints and the white ink is low (physical) maintenance unlike other printers. R1000 is pretty good at printing precut 18x24 yard signs. You can also print on canvas' and reverse print on acrylic that looks excellent.

Yes. You can load 63” x240” if you want
  10. Anyone have a removable curtain/divider in their shop?

Here is the pallet rack divider at my shop
  11. Discussion I've owned an HP R1000 since April 2019, ask me anything

Not sure how the machine seems to get faster. I just check Print OS and timed my wife printed 100 double sided 18x24 in 1:38
  12. Anyone have a removable curtain/divider in their shop?

I divide my shop with a wall of pallet racks and have a huge banner on one side and openings where you can walk through with the clear vinyl stripping. I’ll try to remember to post a photo. I have it dividing the “dirty” area and it also helps with all the heat or AC getting out when the bay...
  13. Deciding on a flatbed Laminator

I have a Roll-X table that is awesome. The roller is a simple design with minimal things to get in the way and the legs are independently adjustable for height and leveling. That was important to me because there is a drain near one of the legs and the floor dips down so with that adjustability...
  14. Deciding on a flatbed Laminator

Check global garage. They had a great deal on one.
  15. Discussion I've owned an HP R1000 since April 2019, ask me anything

Also as for heat I’ve notice the R1000 doesn’t run that hot. I believe the curing temp is around 140 degrees. My HP Latex 360 runs way way hotter at 220 degrees. Before I got the R1000 I thought I was going to have to build an extraction hood for all the heat but it’s not as bad as the HP 3...
  16. Discussion I've owned an HP R1000 since April 2019, ask me anything

As far as speed we just printed (50) double sided 18x24 signs in 57 min at 3 Pass. Loaded 3 sheets at a time.
  17. Discussion I've owned an HP R1000 since April 2019, ask me anything

I was referring to the heat sensitive lever. After printing with mine I haven’t run into that issue. So I don’t recommend doing that anymore.
  18. Help please! Paper stuck to back of wrap, and now not sticking

When the paper has stuck for me I have used application fluid to get off the paper. Then hit with a heat gun to dry. I would also use some 3M wrap primer to ensure sticking.
  19. Discussion I've owned an HP R1000 since April 2019, ask me anything

Just a quick note on print speeds. We printed about 100 18x24 single sided coroplast in about 45-50 minutes. I didn’t get an exact time because we had the head strike sensor get activated because one of the last prices of coroplast was curled. After we waited for that to clear and reload it was...
  20. Discussion I've owned an HP R1000 since April 2019, ask me anything

Did you try to close the “curtain” between the heater and print area? That helps the print area from getting to hot that can warp boards.
