Sure, but that doesn't change the fact that a client list is intrinsically worthless.
Small businesses have a different clientele than larger print companies. It doesn't matter if your product is better or your business model is more efficient. Objectively, those things might be true, but...
Your business is worth the building, the equipment, and the inventory. That's it. A business owner has ZERO control over clients and employees.
[Edit: If someone wants to pay you for client lists, by all means, take their money though.]
I believe they were talking about cutting dimensional letters on a laser (and maybe the back) and mounting them to the piece of acrylic with weld or tape.
I wouldn't use acrylic. If you're going to have a sign hanging over an area with foot traffic, it's too risky. A piece of acrylic in a monument is one thing. UV and temperature exposure creating micro cracks aren't a big deal if the acrylic becomes brittle in a frame, but when it's bearing it's...
How big are these signs going to be? I can't imagine an application for small signage that would require acrylic that thick. You get plenty of rigidity from .25" for most small and medium applications. For small signs, .125" is fine.
You're wasting your breath, man. The earth will be dead and cold and these guys will still be around arguing about whether the sun is dimmer or less bright.
Oof. I did that a couple years ago. Good news: it mostly grows back! I've got a slight flat spot and a nice pea-sized scar on the tip of my thumb now as a reminder to use safety rulers.
[Edit: Was just thinking about it and it was actually about nine years ago. Not great with time.]
I've got...
There's a website called PC Part Picker that takes care of most compatibility issues for you. It's a pretty great resource. Nowadays everything is plug and play, so there's no more manual pin setting and jumper connections. Even if you don't know what you're doing or are inexperienced, you're...
Straight edge and a sharp blade should be enough. Otherwise, buy something like a Keencut Javelin or Sabre. Makes cutting everything faster and easier. They generally pay for themselves pretty quickly in saved labor costs.
I have to agree with this. I want a new hire to use our processes. I don't want to send a new employee out to learn something completely different, then have to argue with them about the "best way" AND train them again.
Every employee we've ever hired (including myself when I started in the...
Have you already agreed to take the job? I wouldn't touch this with a 10' pole. I've seen similar situations where another shop wrapped with calendared and it required a body shop to sand it off. This looks worse. I think your client is about to learn a hard lesson about why you don't go with...
All of the older episodes are on Hulu if you have that service. I've been watching them again. They're pretty darned good.
Congrats, JTBoh! Only 20,000ish more to the top!
It all depends on your printer, but you can definitely get amazing quality if you run at higher settings. You can get museum quality prints no problem out of some of the nicer printers, but even the middle of the road UV printers can produce a good quality print.
Since we've acquired a UV...
I don't think you're going to get much argument from anybody that a lot of the rules and laws are either confusing or flat out dumb. The real issue isn't disposing of it, but the fact that we're using these hazardous compounds at all. That's a completely different subject though, and a hill I'm...
