A few years back we replaced an Arizona like yours with an Arizona 2260. It was significantly faster all around and had double the number of white heads of our 480 so printed white faster too.
Way back you used to be able to open pdf's on a mac in Colorsync (who knows why that would work) and resave them. It would remove password protection.
Then someone at Apple realized that might be a problem and that ability was removed.
My 2 cents is buy the building. I have seen both sides of the situation over the years and while buying is really a long term benefit, in the end you and your family will be pretty happy you made that decision.
I worked for a publishing company that bought all the real estate for every office...
Our default is fail the job, inform the customer and let them decide what to do.
From bad experiences we learned to never do any changes without the customers approval. "Your file is low rez, wrong size, whatever", you fix it, or we fix it, you pay.
Before I got here they would oversaturate a single colour print. We tested a bunch of different options and the best option was Sandwich reducing the white to 75%.
Allows some of the first colour layer through but doesn't get washed out when the lights are on. Its a seriously slow process...

Or are you remote like Prince Rupert where competition from outside is rare?

I have a friend who has an older version of that Roland. Among other things he makes stickers with it, no complaints that I have heard of.
And hello from Kelowna.
We recently printed Concept 790AE LT etch with white ink for office dividers for the local university.
The results were excellent and we have since done something similar on a few more jobs.
At this shop we do a few of things.
One is vehicle wraps. It is not the most profitable part of the business since its very competitive here, but the word of mouth from wrapped vehicles is huge for us.
Another is the gratis printing we do for a local radio station. We do a bunch of stuff for...
We had issues direct from our supplier (Grimco) so they started selling us prepacked stuff direct from the manufacturer. That and always handling with gloves took care of the issue.
We also printed for a real estate agency that was really picky about the quality of their A Frame inserts so we...
