  1. Where to find a review?...

We've had the D75, S75T and currently run the S160D. Killer plotters. We've had other brands (Roland and Graphtec) and will not buy anything but Summa now. Speaking from extensive experience, yes, technically they all plot, but they are not all created equal by any stretch of the imagination...
  2. "OverSpray" issues with my Mimaki JV3-160SP

My money is on the ink. It's the same problem we had and doing nothing but switching back to OEM solved it instantly for us.
  3. Static Cling & Parking Passes

We could help you out with the statics, not the hangers though. PM me the specs if you want me to put a quote together for you.
  4. vinyl zapper review

Love ours, wouldn't touch a large removal job without it. Once you get the hang of it it removes the vinyl and adhesive in almost no time flat. It does make a mess, like tons of pencil eraser shavings, but it's still easier to clean that up than it is to scrape vinyl. It's a worthwhile...
  5. Hide you wife, hide your kids, hide you husband...

Oh holy hell that was amazing, just amazing!
  6. Hide you wife, hide your kids, hide you husband...

  8. Save your scrap

Paging Kgirl. Oh Kgirl, where are you?
  9. Perforated Window Material

With perf, if the ambient light on the back side of the graphic is brighter than the ambient light on the viewing side, the image will be washed out. Perf requires that th elight on the viewing side be brighter than the back side, otherwise your eye focuses on the light coming through the holes...
  10. Green Line on Monitor GO AWAY!!!!!

    ROFL that's was hilarious Gino!!!
  11. Mimaki fire wire connection

Did you download the Mimaki firewire driver too?
  12. wiper "beep" error (jv3 160sp)

+1. We get the same error when there is too much ink buildup around the wiper carriage. Disassemble the wiper assembly and thoroughly clean it. Should work fine afterwards.
  13. Spraying SignPrime via HVLP?

We usually thinned most acrylics (porter mostly) about 30-40% with distilled water. It really sprays well for the most part, but it is different than working with an oil-based paint, it atomizes differently and takes some getting used to. I wouldn't recommend it if you need a glass-smooth...
  14. Supplier/Distributor Frustration

Try Laird Plastics down here in Dayton, I'm almost positive they have it in stock, they always have in the past when I needed it. They don't deliver (for free) but when you're in a pinch they may be the best option, It's got to be less than an hours drive for you too. Neon Engineering out of...
  15. Lamination issue

Bingo, there's your problem. 215 is a low-end economy laminate, 3551 is a higher-end calendered. Probably still should have used a true cast vinyl like 3951 but at the very least the laminate should have been 290 cast. Post heating is when you reheat the surface of the vinyl after it's applied...
  16. Lamination issue

What vinyl/laminate did you use exactly? How long did the print sit before it was laminated? Was it properly post heated after installation?
  17. Spraying SignPrime via HVLP?

We used to spray it a lot, sprays well. It's fairly watery straight from the can so it never took much to thin it down. Depending on your setup, you may only need to cut it 10-15% or so. We always used distilled water. Be aware though, if you're spraying this, it'll need many coats. It's...
  18. Teardrop banners

Orbus. Those things are not cheap no matter where you go though. People expect them to be $100 but we routinely sell them for $500-650 ea.. Yes, they're dye-sub.
  19. Supplier/Distributor Frustration

Where in Ohio are you? I'm another Grimco fan, but we buy a lot from Laird Plastics as well. Been dealing with Grimco for years and years, they make mistakes like everyone else but they've always bent over backwards to fix anything wrong.
  20. Why sell equipment and not shop?

Most small sign shops are not worth anything without the owner. The owner is responsible for it's success, it's not a life of it's own yet. Even with a good deal of transitional training the chances of the success of a small operation to continue without the original owner are slim and buyers...
