  1. Serial cable?

+1 for Cables to Go, they've got just about anything under the sun and they'll custom make anything you need as well. Plus, their one of our best customers so I have to return the favor sometimes...
  2. Cable Display Systems??

+1 for Nova Display, top notch stuff. Not cheap but very high quality.
  3. Wall vinyl, Can you use rtape for this type and what's the best way to do this job

+1, cut in one piece, top hinge on the wall and cut into smaller sections. And I'd use a medium tack tape, high tack may cause issues with 631 since it's a lower-tack vinyl.
  4. Monitor Upgrade

Love my Dell Ultrasharp 30", cannot imagine going smaller now. I'm considering getting another one to have two dual 30s. I know a lot of people are going the flatscreen TV route for their monitors, but be aware, just because they're big doesn't necessarily translate to a larger picture...
  5. Happy Birthday Shovelhead!

+1! Live it up! Happy birthday!
  6. I need a Plastic type substrate 3/4 thick???

Acrylic or PVC, or HDU if painted. All will work well if installed properly.
  7. RGB humor

    haha
  8. Cast vs Calendered and clear coat

Cast will solve this problem, preferably not Avery cast. If in doubt, go 3M. I don't think I'd be clearcoating over that either, seems like a recipe for disaster, or at least a permanently unsellable trailer. Why do they want to clear it?
  9. Inkjet office printers - Not large format, what do you use?

I'd buy a color laser for day-to-day non critical printing. We use a Brother 4070 on the network for printing most documents (emails, invoices, etc.), and if we need to print color critical proofs we print them on an Epson 1400 which really prints well for the money. You should be able to get a...
  10. Poster Printing Paper Recomendation

We're running a totally unmodified Orajet 3651 720x720 8-pass profile, I think the heat on the JV3 is 45/40 in the profile. Try it if you have some sitting around, it's worth a shot. We also use the 3651 profile on our JV33. Heck, we've actually run a lot of posters with that profile in 4-pass...
  11. Beware of ADT

We used to have ADT, they transferred it from one location to another for free without reupping the contract either. We eventually cancelled because their bills are never, ever, ever and I mean EVER right and we had to fight them tooth and nail every time one came over. Cancel in writing...
  12. Mimaki JV33-130 dryer?

  13. Poster Printing Paper Recomendation

I think our results are exactly opposite yours. For us the Postermax looks really washed out no matter what we've tried. I didn't have a profile built for it but we did use a stock profile from Magic and it wasn't any better. Just very flat, dull, "soaked in" looking. On the other hand, the Sihl...
  14. Mimaki JV33-130 dryer?

We have the Digi-Dry unit, works great, worth every penny. We can print heavy coverage black on 180C at 6-pass bidirectional high speed without any issues, we can't do that without the dryer though. The JV3 came with a dryer attachment that just had fans blowing on the media, it didn't really...
  15. Poster Printing Paper Recomendation

+1, Sihl 3686, prints very nicely. Fellers doesn't sell it, Grimco does though. FYI the Magic Postermax that Fellers sucks. I haven't tried their Solvex 9 mil photo paper but part of me suspects it's made for them by Sihl and is identical to the 3686. One of these days I'll try it.
  16. Avery Vinyl

  17. 4x6 hanging sign substrate

If you just want something simple and don't need it to be too thick I'd use 6mm Polymetal/Dibond/Maxmetal. It's nothing fancy though.
  18. Caulk or glue

Fiberglass resin or Bondo were my preferences.
  19. New Facility!!!!

Oh man that's going to feel like you moved into your own continent after being in 260 s.f.! Congratulations! Post some pictures of the facility once you're moved in!
  20. Salesperson Compensation

We pay $1k per month base salary, plus $200 per month vehicle reimbursement, cell phone, $200 towards health insurance or an IRA/retirement account (their choice), plus all expenses, plus 10% commission. Seems to keep them here a while and motivated. Unless you're doing many millions a year in...
