I have a roll of special 20" wide material that I need about 10 SqFt of decals printed on it by a Summa printer. I'll be glad to ship the material and artwork to anywhere in the USA. Anybody interested?
Actually, it's an error with the encoder strip. There is ink on the encoder strip that can't be seen, but it's causing an accumulating error that causes the scan to move microscopically to the left a little tiny bit with every pass. Then by the time 2000 passes have occurred, it is so far out...
"Briteline" UV laminate from Grimco works exceptionally well, at a reasonable price. I've been using it for the last two years on outdoor calendered projects with zero complaints or problems.
Sometimes, black lines on the print aren't from the print head... A cracked version or trial version of Flexisign will put those black lines in on purpose. A picture would help us diagnose your problem better.
This is definately what I was looking for... The model is already a Blender model. I'll keep you guys posted on my progress.
Someone from this forum gave me this insight...

It seems that a couple of those programs will work for what I'm...
Thanks, my objective is to "Unwrap" an existing 3D model with paint/color information to print to custom printed hydrographic film so that it can be dipped onto a physical 3D printed model. I don't need to render it, we are creating physical objects that needs decorating accurately and efficiently.
That is the perfect solution to my UV Mapping conundrum... I will try it out immediately. That's the great thing about this forum, the members are knowledgeable in all areas!
I have a customer that wants me to map his 3D model to a 2D plane so that I can print that layout on my 2D Hydrographic film so he can dip/apply it to his 3D prints. My max print area for the film is 4 ft x 8 ft.
He is beginning to print 3D models of his Duck Decoys, and he saw a video on...
I've found that the feed rollers will cause this on particular media. I will usually send a rectangle of brown at the bottom of the actual print to keep the media moving through the printer and not affect the vinyl quite as much before they roll over the area that I want to be streak free. I've...
Wow, this discussion between Coppers Lot and artbot is spot on. They both have an excellent grasp of the workings of the system... I commend you both for your acuity and zeal. It's good to hear discussions about this rare and sometimes forgotten (in the signmaking world) topic.
Sometimes it's...
Those home brew recipes on ebay are for the Activator "B"... Coppers Lot was asking about the Fixative/ Activator A formula.
For those who want to know, the formula sold on ebay is 70% Lacquer Thinner and 30% Xylene. $7.00 left in you pocket for lunch....
Hydrographic Film Printing
I suspect aircraft fabric dope would work... Although dope is applied to shrink and tighten the dacron fabric. As much as I used fabric dope in my youth, I never thought to experiment with it.
The Activator A I bought from JetYoung smelled like a Photographic Film...
PVA Film prices from China
Yes, Coppers Lot, the price will actually drop with the exchange rate between the Renminbi and the US Dollar. But that price drop will be a negligible part of the whole price of the finished custom digitally printed hydrographic film. Of the $1280.00 per roll that I...
