  1. Cut Solution for HP 310

DK...<<Also, if you are negotiator, you can get it for a lot less than $6K.>> LOL Since the reseller is also tasked with warranty service, most won't "negotiate" for a lot less than $6K. On the other hand DK, if I can provide you warranty parts and you agree to do the service, then I will...
  2. Cut Solution for HP 310

PRS Summa 54" Tangential cutter might be the very best you could buy? It generally sells for around $9K. It might be an overkill for die-cutting. The Summa S2140D is a 54" drag knife cutter and would probably work equally well for die cutting and is generally $1,000 to $1,500 less than the T...
  3. T160 Problem

Bly, You previously mentioned your cutter is only a few months old. If the reseller has already replaced a bunch of parts and you are still getting errors...you might try asking your reseller or even Summa Direct to replace it for you? There are such things as "lemons" in all product lines...
  4. Epson S80600

Altered, Chris is spot on... Sorry that your install was a bust... You might try asking your Dealer for their Epson Sales Rep's name and address...and send him an email asking if he could help you locate those profiles??? If your Dealer won't give you the Epson Rep name...call Epson and ask...
  5. Cutter options for S70670?

Bigfish, I'm mostly in your camp, except for a few thoughts. In the beginning, Gerber 15" and 30" sprocketed cutters ruled the world! They were Tangential knife (motorized knife) cutters, well built, very reliable, and terribly expensive. This was PRE digital printer time. Sign makers cut...
  6. Cutter options for S70670?

Mechanic, The fish is spot on. Check out HP Latex. Epson S70670?? Used printer? Epson S80600, 11 color printer sells for $23K...considerably more than HP Latex 560, 6 colors. You should take a close look at them. The Fish recommends either Graphtec or Summa for a stand alone vinyl cutter...
  7. HP Rolls out the Red Carpet!

Yall pay heed to the BigFish... The HP Latex Academy will teach you how to get the best performance out of HP Latex printers. Once you go Latex, you will never go back to solvent. Good Printing!
  8. T160 Problem

Bly, Are you getting Factory service by Summa or reseller service?
  9. flatbed printer choices

BigBen and Chris I believe the Oce 365GT sells somewhere north of $110K in US? I noticed that Mimaki has just announced a "Year End Special" for certain printer "bundles". If you purchased the JFX200-2513, you can purchase a CJV300-130 ($28K) 54", mild solvent print and cut printer for what...
  10. flatbed printer choices

Chris, The Mimaki JFX200-2513 is a very nice printer; and, with an MSRP of $78K, it is even a nicer printer. Both the Oce and the Jetrix are nice printers as well; however, I'm not so sure their price/performance are the same as Mimaki.
  11. UV Printers - Help and Feedback Needed

A lot has changed in the past two years since this thread was started. Pretty much the same players. IMO, Mimaki has done the best job of modifying the UJF3042HG and the UJF6042. Both these printers are pretty solid today; however, I really like the new Mimaki UJF-7151 Plus...bigger bed...
  12. Summa F1612 and F2630

I would be curious to know end user thoughts. Price range? Competition? I do not mean Esko or Zund, More like MCT Digital, Colex, and any others? Best market application? Thank you and have a Happy Thanksgiving
  13. New Printer

bigdar, FB550 would work well and it is by far the least expensive. You could probably find a deal on a FB750 which would be priced closer to EFI, Oce, and Fuji; however, your production would be near doubled printing the sizes you indicated. If you decide to go conventional flatbed, I would...
  14. UV Printing on Mylar - Adhesion Promoters or Corona Treatment

Jim, There is a poster at this site who has previously posted that he has sold many Mimaki flatbed printers. PDS Equipment Steve Weist 615-812-3001 This gentleman might have an answer for you? Let us know if you find a solution.
  15. Still rocking the L110...

eyez, Great Printer! 54" wide HP Latex with PS RIP for under $10K! Enjoy
  16. 360 Red Printing Question

dyp, Sounds to me like (a) you are color Savvy and (b) you know your way around your PS RIP...both of which is a plus plus for you! I would imagine that the majority of HP Latex 360s are driven with Onyx, Caldera, and Flexi.
  17. 360 Red Printing Question

Josh, First things first... What 3M media? What PS RIP? dyp...What PS RIP do you use? Myron...You would really be much happier with your HP Latex output if your "print guy" would sign up and take HP's Latex Academy; or, at the very least, would try some of these ideas posted?
  18. What to Buy? What to Buy? Need advice and wisdom!

LFC would like for you to believe the Roland LEJ640FT is the best solution...I don't think so here. Steve says Mimaki JFX200 is the best solution...He may be right...it is a nice high performance printer; and, there are enough successful installs across the US to back that up. I have seen the...
  19. Large Format 3D Printers

kingerman, Thank you for the link. You must have an application in mind to select any of these large format 3D printers.
  20. Cutting Master 3 - Not a Big Fan

War, Do you also digitally print? If so, what RIP do you use?
