Not sure if it's just weird electrical gremlins or what but our Summa seems possessed sometimes. Jobs cut great, they cut accurately...but every once in a while it'll pause, sit for a bit chewing on data and then "Internal Error 2""Internal Error 4" or "Error on X Axis" shows up on screen...

Anybody out there running this combo? I generally like to run a color bar on the left side of our prints, one....it helps diagnose print quality issues...and B... it also aids in cutting after laminating (It keeps me from mistaking loading the cutter backwards) :) I can't seem to find a setting...

IIRC, when you go to print, and the RIP & Print dialog comes up, under the cutter tab, be sure Summa is selected as the desired cutter, and OPOS is the selected mark choice. There should be an options button below that. Once you click the button the options for distances should be in there. I...

Under Edit Quick Set, go to Postscript settings tab and untick the box that says 'Use Two Stage Processing'. Pixel duplication on large files could be causing it to crash. It fixed that issue for me once. Just a thought. -N8

I know this may sound ridiculous, but is there a way to change the order of Media Types on the dashboard. Installer put Avery 1105 in the number one spot, but I would like to move it down to number 4 or so. Can't seem to figure out how to copy/paste or relocate it using this software. There is a...

I've used Scotch tape over each printed OPOS mark...Pulled me out of the hole a few times. Just make sure it's centered in the tape or it screws up. Hope this helps -N8

Yeah, what sucks is it only took me 3 months of tinkering to figure that one out. :) Wondering why one day it works, the next day it doesn't...then it finally hit me. DUH!

We use Flexi to print and it prints the marks on the vinyl, then the print is loaded into the Summa. Once it orients itself at origin, we send the cut file through Flexi. No readable marks are in the actual cut file. I'm prompted to align the knife above the first corner mark and off it goes...

Turn the marks off?

Just wanted to update this thread. Having SCC and Flexi Cloud Production Manager open at the same time is a nightmare. SCC won't function at all with PM opened at the same time.

It varies, the latest one was approx 10' long...but it does the same thing on jobs that are smaller. The only time it doesn't do it, is when the whole job fits in a 4 block space and is only a foot long or so.

Nah, I've been using Seiko's settings for the print gutter to the left of the print. It's about an inch or so from any of the OPOS marks. And it reads every mark just fine, and cuts great. But after it reads the last 2 marks, it acts like it's going to cut...then it pauses, checks each roller...

Thank you for the reply Sir, As far as I can tell there isn't a setting within Flexi to make many changes to the OPOS settings aside from marker size and width apart, paneling settings aren't available through their program. So the paneling settings were made through SUmma Cutter Control...

Not sure why this is happening. But a while back I updated the firmware on this unit so we could utilize the 'panels' feature which works very well. All jobs have been cutting beautifully, no matter the length. All of our settings in Flexi cloud are printing correctly, and the cutter reads...
