That may be a good option. I am putting temporary lettering on a fire truck until I can get the gold leaf ready to install. The removable reflective would work perfect, but I may just use regular removable vinyl and not worry about putting reflective over top because it doesn't technically have...
I am looking for short term removable reflective vinyl, preferably 15" punched. I remember seeing it somewhere, I just can't find it now that I need it.
I am selling a whole complete Falcon Junior. Everything is working with the exception of the color print head, I refurbished it and got a bad print head so I have decided to sell it instead of buying another print head. I wasn't planning on parting it out but you can PM me if you're interested.
This is a picture of one of the spots on the printhead:
And these are pictures from the print test. One block is normal and the other was set to "light" because I don't think there is an option for 50% in flexi. You have to hold the print in just the right light to see the "scratches", but...
I will run the test first thing in the morning and report back. The funny part about this is none of this happened until after I took the printer to the "tune up" promotion Gerber was running. I got it back in the shop and noticed the first "scratch" in the prints. I just figured it was dust...
I have never had a blown pixel though so I could be wrong. I just thought it would be more pronounced, I didn't think that was something that laminating would fix?
I don't think they are pixel blow outs, I don't have any lines missing in the print- just the two scratches. Once I laminate the prints they are fine. It looks more like debris stuck to the head.
This is the old thread:

I think I am pretty happy with the pattern, the swirl marks need to be a little more pronounced but other than that it looks really close to my real hand laid gold. What I don't like is the...
I noticed the prints coming off of my Edge have two faint scratches in them running the length of the material. After checking the wipers I looked at the printhead and found two very small specs of something stuck to the printhead... they are smaller than the tip of a ball point pen. Wiping the...
I posted a while back asking for suggestions on how to make a printed imitation of real hand laid and turned gold leaf. I have never been satisfied with the seamless tile fills or even AlienSkin's version, it just doesn't look like the real thing. I got some great suggestions in the original...
Pictures of the job:
I just thought of this, but the sides of this truck may be plastic- if it is what is called a "wet side" tank the poly tank is a one piece full width design that isn't sheeted with aluminum. Either way it is still painted just like the rest of the truck, so I wouldn't...
So today I went to do an install on an airport fire truck. It should have been a simple install... two color logo on the front doors using Oracal metallic silver with black Oracal 5600 on top, and then a two part logo on the sides of the tank using more black 5600 and printed/laminated 5600 in...
Thank you all for the quick help! Converting to a bitmap and adding noise did help somewhat, but opened up some other issues. Flexi actually has a ton of settings and options for gradients when you dig into it, so by playing with all of those I found something that I think works very well...
