Yes sir it is small, 3 1/2" tall by 24". The area of the front bumper where it will be going is only 3 3/4" tall so we had to work around that. I painted it with automotive base coat/clear coat, I guess I could've waited and cleared after I put the decals on. Hindsight is 20/20 though!
Thank you for the quick reply and great information! I'm probably getting close to owing you a steak dinner for all of the questions you've answered...
I just finished this sign today, and I can't decided whether I should put a clear vinyl overlay over the RealGold or not. This is RealGold 22kt vinyl with shadows and outlines printed on a Gerber Edge with Gerber Color foil. According to RealGold, no lamination of their product is needed. It...
I'm not saying it's the best I've seen. I agree that Copperplate probably wasn't the best choice. I just liked the script for some reason. I guess because it's actually not Brush Script for once...
When I said nice I was mainly referring to an old gasser with "ACE SPEED SHOP" painted down each...
Awesome! Thanks! Turns out cruise ins are great places to see some nice vintage painted lettering and pinstriping. (And some nice vinyl lettering too I guess)
Ah the learning never ends. But hey, I had to start somewhere and the Edge was in my price range. The little guy has impressed me though, it is very good at certain things. It may take more time to set up and run but I have no complaints so far.
I have used Signgold, it is good for certain purposes and people on a budget but I can't stand the random "turns" that don't line up with the strokes of the letters. I would like to be able to offer the hand-laid leaf as an option, although a much more expensive option. There are other people...
When I bought my Gerber Edge I intended to use it to print shadows on gold leaf (like Pierce Mfg. graphics). I have learned that it can do much more than that, but today I decided to try out the gold leaf idea. I loaded up some Oracal clear vinyl and printed one set of letters in imitation gold...
I just got my Edge up and running and I'm also new to Flexi (I have 8.1). If I have a jpeg that is only 3 or 4 colors and I want to print it on the Edge using spot colors, how to I go about doing that? I've been trying to figure it out and I can't make it happen! The dog is what I'm trying to print.
No problem! I about drove myself crazy trying to get Flexi to agree with my Edge and eventually found out it was nothing more than a Windows 7 compatibility issue!
I have gotten some things from that website, the leaf came from another vector website. I am going to adjust the kerning today, and also work on the fleur de lis- I like the idea of getting rid of them. As far as the established 1954, we are pretty set on having to have it in the same location...
Well everything is working... with the cable from Best Buy! I had to go in and change the compatibility mode settings for flexi and production manager to Windows Vista! Also, I downloaded Gerber's drivers for the cable.
This design will be going on fire truck doors at a local department. We have been working out the details of the design for a while, and it is close to what we were looking for. The only thing that I am not satisfied with at this point is the "Est. 1954". The chief wants a script font, but I...
I ordered samples of the Sign Gold 22 kt and 23.5 kt, as well as the Real Gold engine turn vinyl. I cut the same "S" out of each one and also some imitation gold leaf vinyl and put them side by side on a sign so I could compare. The 23.5 kt Sign Gold is really nice, and can be applied to the...
