You're supposed to go through the service menu and flush all of the ink out of the of the machine completely (ink lines, subtanks, heads caps) to ship it. That means 8 bottles of flush. Just a disway wash isn't gonna do it. Then there is the matter of the yellow brackets and the special caps...
Usually when that happens, and there is not any type of error, the issue is with the head not capping properly. Check that the head is capping properly, It may need an adjustment and that can be done in the service menu. If you still have the install manual it explains how to adjust it perfectly.
I concur it's gotta be the coro treatment. Maybe the sheets you are using were at the beginning or the end of the treatment run. Only ever experienced that issue when we had to use the cheap/different materials due to supply chain issues.

It's the sub tanks. That is the first thing the Mimaki tech should have replaced. Then ink lines, release valve. Would have been a lot cheaper for them too.
What printer? Was the print head recently changed? Did you do it yourself or did a tech do it? In my opinion that looks like a head voltage issue. Check all of your electrical connections and reseat. Make sure machine is unplugged and any static has been discharged.
The positive and negative pressures work in tandem, the negative pressure keeps the ink from just oozing out of the head and the positive pushes it out when it needs to print. I'm not sure about this specific model but all of the other Mimaki's I've worked on have a +/- air valve that you adjust...
