  1. Need help finding any printer, that uses dye based inks (water soluble)

Glass cleaner, as in Windex or Invisible Glass? Hmmm... I'll have to try.
  2. Need help finding any printer, that uses dye based inks (water soluble)

Hey board, Can anyone send me info on any printer, any location... that still uses dye based inks in a wide format printer? I need to do some water brush work on a digital print... and need it to bleed, run, etc Ideally a 44" wide or greater printer thanks!!
  3. LEC2-300 owners??

Just an update to this old thread (incase it helps anyone in the future) I updated the firmware.. which brought some new menu choices The LEC2-300 has a 60 minute print timer... once you hit 60 mins of print time (cleaning, with no option to turn off or adjust)
  4. White hard UV ink is printing with an ivory/yellowish tint

What ink brand are you using? My Roland UV inks' white shifts to yellow pretty quickly as well :(
  5. Extended Gamut Ink Permanence on New Epson S9170 Printer.....

Epson's pigment inks have historically all been very very solid performers in regards to longevity and lightfastness. While I have no real data, I suspect the orange as well as all the other color pigments are the same they've been using in the Ultrachrome ink line for years

Is material perfectly flat in this area? Might be lumpy here...
  10. Right to Repair Act

I'm running a Roland LEC2-300. I believe the Peck software online is needed, and I've seen the PDF manuals/repair guides, etc when the tech has been on site. I'll keep you all posted as to what Roland says. I'm told they've escalated my request, as well as mentioned I will void my warranty...
  11. Right to Repair Act

"The Repair Act requires original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) of digital electronic equipment “to make diagnostic and repair information available to independent repair providers and consumers if such parts and repair information are also available to OEM authorized repair providers.”...
  12. Haptic Printing.....

Ok, very cool. I also thought this was 2.5D dimensional ink printing... but this color shift is pretty amazing.
  13. Haptic Printing.....

I believe HP coined the phrase elevation print many many years ago.. when they first produced this type of 2.5D layered inkjet printing. We've been doing this with our Roland UV printer, but essentially and UV printer can pull this off. We use the gloss ink to build up the texture and...
  14. What's the thickest/deepest item you printed directly on to with a UV Flatbed? Something more than golf balls

They were in business for a very long time, produced many many topographical maps... I think the owner just retired... nothing about 'not making enough money from it' Nevertheless... I wish someone would make a open source or conversion kit that was like this...
  15. What's the thickest/deepest item you printed directly on to with a UV Flatbed? Something more than golf balls

Take a look at this incredible printer (1 of a kind) I've tried to reach out to them, but unfortunately no response. I wanted to buy the printer from the now defunct company Youtube link: youtu.be/oSDkOrfdWrI?si=NJD57JzNUoCbzXM9
  16. What's the thickest/deepest item you printed directly on to with a UV Flatbed? Something more than golf balls

A company in California, took apart each channel of the inkjet head, and put each color channel on a contollable z axis motor that moved up and down following the topographical contours of geological maps they CNC'd. They shut down a few years ago... but a very clever printer. Entire head...
  17. What's the thickest/deepest item you printed directly on to with a UV Flatbed? Something more than golf balls

I need to win the lottery, so I can buy a large scale cobot, hire a mechanical engineer, and attach a industrial inkjet system to the cobot. Then one could program a toolpath that follows the topographical contours instead of the usual XY rail/head travel... I guess computational thermoforming...
  18. What's the thickest/deepest item you printed directly on to with a UV Flatbed? Something more than golf balls

So far 20mm is the largest depth from the manufacturer. Jetting distance. Wanting to print directly onto topographical surfaces, that are not flat planes... and have varying z axis heights
  19. UV Long Drop Printing

Funny, I was just posting a thread on this topic... trying to find what machine, can jet the ink and cover a deep pocket, slope, curve, etc , rather than just a shallow depth I guess you call it 'Long Drop Printing' i.e. You have a object, and you need to print all the peaks AND valleys...
