not sure how your mimaki holds/dispenses the media or where the heaters are but I would guess that using media flanges would solve (or at least help the issue).

Your best bet for "re-usabillity" is to reverse print on cleat static cling and than mount white vinyl to the printed side. And like JasonX says, tell them to mist it. Plus you wont get any ink transfer this way.

Your nozzle test looks like crap. Get all the nozzles firing and see what kind of results you get. If the colour is still off, you could try using some different profiles.
