  1. Suggestions Best mid-level flatbed printer?

Quality costs more. If you look at the build of their machines they are vastly superior to the competition. These machines are not imported from China, they are built in Texas with American labor. Instead of cutting corners to save a buck, they spend a little more on higher quality American...
  2. Suggestions Best mid-level flatbed printer?

No such thing as overkill. You always want to buy more than your current needs unless you don’t plan on growing. Both companies are great. I liked the build and the software better of Digitech. The quality of the machines they are putting out are truly incredible. Their support has been...
  3. Suggestions Best mid-level flatbed printer?

We were initially looking at the 4 head but ended up going with 8 head (dual cmyk) + 2 white. Very happy with our decision.
  4. Test print files

We have always sent files that we print regularly then usually have them print solid swatches of gray, red, blue and anything else that may be hard to hit. Send them the most difficult files and make sure they meet your needs. You never want to buy something that can’t meet your quality...
  5. Rant COLEX is on my S**T LIST

Watching closely as we have been having the same issues. Been resolved since we replaced the camera chord a couple weeks. Been a big fan of colex over the years and think they will do you right but know your frustrations.
  6. HP R1000 - How Fast?

Have no real world experience with these machines but we run 2 of the fb series. Have seen them in action at several of the print shows and was never impressed with the speed or quality. If you want/need production, buy a production machine. These things are plastic toys that are dressed up...
  7. What a joke HP is

Very true. The dealer we bought through is a great company and they help any way they can. Unfortunately the do not have “techs” on staff only a team that installs the equipment. They help as much as they can but they are not trained as up as technicians. People like BigFish and end users...
  8. What a joke HP is

Unfortunately for these small latex machines I am unaware of a solid replacement. There is not enough margin for these smaller companies to build and be competitive. I was mainly referring to larger machines. We purchased our Digitech flatbed back in august and the support has been...
  9. What a joke HP is

And just to clarify, I have no problem paying for a service call to help diagnose a problem. We diagnosed the issue ourselves and new what part to replace just needed the part number. The fact that you have to pay to get the part number to buy from HP is asinine.
  10. What a joke HP is

We noticed our optimizer leaking on some material and then realized it had leaked all over the maintenance cartridge. This lead to it getting all over the printheads and clogging/ruining the all of them. Frustrating but that is the half of it. We diagnosed that a fitting had failed...
  11. Suggestions Best mid-level flatbed printer?

I would add to say that i would research the service contracts after your 1 year warranty expires. Your jaw may hit the floor when you see what some of the larger OEM companies charge for little to no service. I am done with HP after seeing the games they play.
  12. Suggestions Best mid-level flatbed printer?

I second this. Have had our Digitech since end of august and are still amazed with the speed, quality and durability. We print crisp 8 point type on .020 styrene at 45 seconds a sheet. With the auto-unloader, you can easily hit 60 boards an hour without killing your operator. The vanguard is...
  13. UV Roll to Roll printers

Vanguard has a nice 3.2 meter with a good price point.
  14. Need Help UV Ink not adhering to Coroplast signs. (Peeling Ink, Sun Exposure)

I spy some of my samples from when we were looking at the Digitech! Great printer with the strongest ink I have seen. If it doesn’t stick, you can’t send it out the door. My days of worrying are over!
  15. Flatbed Printing & Finishing

i would second this. We have the same setup. Great machine that does everything we need. Service is great as well.
  16. Flatbed Printing & Finishing

Digitech’s latest podcast really put my thoughts/experience into words. A real world user talking about the same benefits I have seen. Give it a listen to see what their all about. https://digitechusa.com/the-auto-unloader-featuring-tommy-trucks-signmaster/
  17. Flatbed Printing & Finishing

We have had our Digitech a little over 2 months and could not be happier. The whole experience has been incredible....from install, to service to follow up visits. This company really takes care of its customers and makes you feel like part of a family. We have not had 1 single...
  18. US Made Digitech Trufire printer

Absolutely. I looked at the stratojet in Dallas last year and they are great machines. Got to talk to an end user that spoke very highly of the machines and company. Lots of great companies/manufacturers out there doing incredible things. It’s a fun time to be in the industry!
  19. US Made Digitech Trufire printer

Like with anything, you pay for quality....and you only pay once. We just finished up 5k pieces of acrylic and this machine hasn’t had a single hiccup. The only issue was almost a bad head crash when I missed my guide. The anti-crash sensor stopped the carriage and saved me probably all of my...
  20. US Made Digitech Trufire printer

We are seeing between $.10-$.15 per square foot in ink costs. $.15 is with heavy saturation. We are running 10 kyocera printheads with variable dot. Ink is proprietary to Digitech as it should be. Never seen an ink as durable and scratch resistant.
