  1. Is there any one man shop making around 500k$ in annual sayles

I have to agree with Christian. We do a lot of work for some large companies and government contracts and this has never come up. To me, this is something financial institutes ask when you take out a loan. So technically, we should be asking our customers for a contingency plan as they are...
  2. Latex and General Formulations issues

We have used General Formulations for years and having issues with a recent batch of material we received. Trying to narrow down if it is material or printer issue. I believe it is a material issue but want to see if anybody else has seen this problem. Material: Concept 201 & Concept 201OAP...
  3. Is Vanguard a good printer? Which model is recommended?

That is very impressive and good information. When I looked at the same machine it was around 2.5 minutes a board but that was a over a year ago. Not sure what settings we were running but it was not enough speed for what we were trying to achieve. Those are definitely not entry level speeds. Lol.
  4. Is Vanguard a good printer? Which model is recommended?

That is good information to know. Add in 1 minute for loading and unloading and that machine is at 15 boards per hour. Again, this is good for entry level printing but would never compete in a production shop like ours. I could not live with less than 40 boards per hour. Not knocking the...
  5. Is Vanguard a good printer? Which model is recommended?

Didn’t know it was a debate but I will put in my 2 cents. Both machines are great but they are not in the same league. Comparing 10 head to 10 head machine, the Digitech is over twice as fast. Realisticly…the vanguard gets 18-22 boards per hour. Our Digitech runs 40-60 boards per hour...
  6. Is Vanguard a good printer? Which model is recommended?

Very true. Every machine will eventually have a issue(s), it’s a matter of how it’s handled that makes a difference. The only issue we have had with ours in our first year were the crash sensors went bad and they had a new pair to our door the next morning. No down time and handled it quickly...
  7. Is Vanguard a good printer? Which model is recommended?

I would be curious to know what issues Nate1n22 is having as well. Not really much to go wrong on the machine unless you have a bad operator. We have been very happy and any issues have been quickly addressed and fixed by Digitech.
  8. Printing United 2021 Canceled?

I really enjoy the trade shows as I like to see the products/machines in person. Touch, feel and see it in action….it’s much different than seeing pictures and videos on line. It is also fun to catch up with old friends and vendors. But I feel like that also causes issues. I go mainly to...
  9. Discussion Trufire vs Vanguard

Yes…corrugated is our largest product. We print a lot of materials but corrugated is the lions share. we do a large acrylic job every quarter and the Trufire has made our life so much easier. Used to be a screen printed product that we are now able to shift to digital with speed if the Trufire.
  10. Discussion Trufire vs Vanguard

We don’t clean any of our sheets…at most wipe the dust off and let print. Ink adhesion from Digitech is stronger than any others I have seen. VHB tape will not pull the ink off corrugated. Very impressive.
  11. Discussion Trufire vs Vanguard

Cant say who it’s for but I can tell you the demand is there. We are not printing jobs like this all the time, but when they come up…you have to be able to play ball. Which is the exact reason we invested in Digitech…they are twice the speed of everything else in their price range. You would...
  12. Discussion Trufire vs Vanguard

Yes, we run primarily 3 pass on everything. Sometimes we have to drop to 5 pass but that all depends on the job/customer. White all depends on the application. We range any where from 5 pass to 9 pass with different densities.
  13. Discussion Trufire vs Vanguard

I agree 100%. If you are not running the auto unloader you are really missing out. We ran 5000 4x8s in just over 2 weeks. I could not imagine having to load and unload all of those. It takes a good bit of work off your operator and it pushes them to keep the machine fed. I don’t know of...
  14. Discussion Trufire vs Vanguard

What issues are you having? We run a lot of large white jobs on our Trufire. The more you use it the better it runs.
  15. HP Scitex FB550 UV Lt Cyan ink not curing

Good points but that is a lot of unnecessary steps just to cure your ink. How about they make a ink that cures well and don’t flood the market with bad batches (that we have all received). Made a lot of money of their machines but have also lost a TON due to their bad practices and ignoring...
  16. Looking for Printer suggestions

I would also recommend Digitech. Have had our X2 right at a year now. No major issues and have been very happy. If adhesion is important, look no further. Digitech has by far the best adhesion in the industry. Not to mention, they check all the other boxes on your list as well. If you...
  17. Flatbed Printers - Vanguard Print Settings & 2nd Printer Purchase

Nice! Always exciting getting new equipment/upgrading. Is this on the 4 head or 8 head machine?
  18. Need replacement printer feedback

Add Digitech to your list. Speed, quality, adhesion and service are unmatchable. Been running ours almost a year now and couldn’t be happier. We run the same materials mentioned flawlessly. Just ran 150k square foot job in under 3 weeks and it was a breeze. At 3200 square feet an hour...
  19. Anybody own a Digitech....I has questions about printing on glass

Most flatbed printers need digital grade (more expensive) acrylic for their inks to stick - and even some of them will still need a adhesion promoter. We run your standard acrylic with no promoters and get excellent adhesion. Their inks are as good as your gonna get (in my opinion) for...
  20. Anybody own a Digitech....I has questions about printing on glass

Have had our Digitech X2 about 9 months now. Have not tried it on glass but we print a bunch of acrylic and other substrates. About to start a run of 2500 pieces that we do every quarter. It’s non digital grade and their inks require no primers or adhesion promoters. Pretty incredible. I...
