  1. UCJV330 + RL7 - Space between jobs

This is why I've just stuck to sheets. Print one and roll the leading edge back to the platen and start the next print.
  2. Print Issues Epson S80600 Furry Edges

What resolution are you printing at? Bi-direction or Uni? You can always try to a manual head alignment to see how those look.
  3. UCJV330 Gloss Curing

Right now I use Substance 3755 Matte AR. I think I'll get a roll of non-ar to try. Also what was weird is that a Mimaki rep told me when buying this never to use more than 50% clear ink. Then a few weeks ago I was told to try it at 90-100%. lol Those photos I posted were done with a pass of 100%...
  4. UCJV330 Gloss Curing

I'll have to really experiment with settings or switch to a non-air release to help prevent it. My machine is still under warranty and don't want to void that so switching inks isn't in my book just yet. It would be fine it it did it evenly to everything, but when only certain areas do it it...
  5. UCJV330 Gloss Curing

I'm curious if anyone else has encountered this issue with UV prints and clear gloss/matte ink. It doesn't happen consistently on every single piece but happens to at least some pieces on every clear job I run. The initial prints come out looking fine but within a couple of days I notice this...
  6. CG-AR - Die cutting

If you plan of using a different RIP like Onyx, Flexi, etc... you can look into other cutter brands, but if you plan on staying with Rasterlink, it may be worth it to stay in the Mimaki sphere. I run Onyx for my Epson and Graphtech cutter, but Onyx doesn't really support the UCJV330 fully yet...
  7. UCJV330 - White ink waste

Just had a thought yesterday when I was doing some maintenance. Have you checked the cleaning cycles settings on your machine? Could just be that it's cleaning and wasting the white possibly....?
  8. Light banding on solids - UCJV330

Thanks I've gotten it figured out. My tech said solids can be tricky. I got it worked out though, I printed colors patterns up both sides of the sheet and had to increase the vacuum to max and haven't had any of the banding since. *crosses fingers*
  9. UCJV330 - White ink waste

Use can either use maintenance fluid or a little bit of ink to lube the o-rings on the caps. I've found a little ink works best since the maintenance fluid dries up.
  10. Light banding on solids - UCJV330

From what my tech said is that solids are challenging at this rate it's going to take 21hrs of printing for this job.
  11. Light banding on solids - UCJV330

I'm getting some light banding in this background I'm printing. I saw it on another print that had an orange solid area. Seems to be with certain colors cause I didn't see it in some lighter blue prints I did a coupe weeks ago. I've checked my feed comp and adjusted it and my drop position...
  12. The annual question...how was business this year?

One person shop here. My business was pretty much flat this year with a slow start to the year and a busier November helped. Bought a new Mimaki UV machine this year but I need to work on marketing and advertising this winter, which I'm terrible at, but I have to do it if I want to remain open.
  13. News Mimaki Ink Price Increase

Another ink price increase for Mimaki inks now. 6% up. They also are changing some of their shipping from their warehouses, if you get something drop shipped from them it'll be $150 if the order in under $2600. Apparently they are getting tooo many drop ships from their warehouses and it's...
  14. Print and cut layouts (Mimaki printer to Graphtec cutter)

Still looking for a layout solution. I've been setting up a sheet of 56 stickers to print and cut and it takes about 30-40mins just to setup the layout. Every time I go to step anything out it takes 5-10mins for it to process. This is very unproductive and I can't see anyone doing this daily. I...
  15. UCJV330 Profiles

I looked through my machine setting and there is nothing for inks except white and clear for MAPS which doesn't have anything to do with what you're trying to get. I don't remember my tech doing anything special for ink coverage, just the regular print alignments. Is it that you are trying to...
  16. UCJV330 Profiles

What color matching setting are you using in your quality tab? Maybe that will help. I tend to use Deep Color Natural for most of my prints.
  17. UCJV330 Profiles

Good luck. Right now it just seems Onlyx only has a test driver available for the UCJV330. I'm in the same boat and wanted to use Onyx with my UCJV330 but there are no profiles available as of yet. Unless you make your own media profiles, you will probably be stuck using Rasterlink for now...
  18. UCJV330 Gloss Curing

How do you run a no print pass? I know on flatbeds it's an option but the roll machines don't have that feature although I wish they would put something like that in an update.
  19. UCJV330 Gloss Curing

I haven't had any complaints. I use 45/45% on single layers. If I do a slightly raised print with it I use 40/40% on 2 layers.. It was also due to the media backing paper as well I think. Since I started using Substance matte vinyl I have not had any sticking issues.
  20. Substance Chrome and the new HP Latex machines, any updates on how to get it not to stick to the rear plenum

I had some success using this when I was running my Summa for cutting some metallics.
