So it really looks like there are 2 options. A Mimaki UCJV 300/330 (330 isn't available yet) or Roland LG model which is just coming out.
What are people's experience with service in general from either company? I've just read a lot of gripes or complaints about Roland and how they've changed...
Yeah that's one why I'm considering a 54" my existing setup I run all 54" so I wouldn't have to buy different sized material. I'm just in a pretty small space is why I was considering the 30".
So I've been thinking about adding a UV printer so I can do spot gloss effects on stickers or short run label work I do. I have room for a 54" but it would make things rather cramped with it being next to my S40600. So I've been looking at the Mimaki UCJV300 series because I can get the 75...
Yes, unfortunately it is. Just trying to get this finished and to them. They have all their products ready and waiting for the labels. *bangs head on desk* Probably going to end up costing me a a lot of money with no profit on this one at this point.
Does anyone know a wholesale/trade print company that does roll labels and can do spot gloss and dull effects? I'm in need of a serious rush order for a waiting customer.
The company I was working with neglected to tell me limitations of their process and the labels did not come out as expected...
This is why I never jumped right on getting one. I felt like the return may not be what I expect. Maybe just a simple site to streamline ordering and file submission for current customers is a better way to go about it.
Thanks for the input.
Since I'm in a slow period right now I've been thinking about a website again. All of my business comes from a social media channel and word of mouth advertising. I feel like it's time to look into other avenues for helping keep sales a bit more steady. (no complaints as I've been very busy the...
I always get customers asking me to make stuff for small jars and such. (I do a lot of short run vinyl labels for cannabis businesses). I'll ask them what size they need it in and either I get a picture of a jar or they just say "small concentrate jars". Very few know the size or take a minute...
I feel like I'm right along with you on this. I've been operating about the same amount of time (3.5 years) and I feel like there is so much room to improve day to day things but I'm always so overwhelmed with work I never end up getting to it. (Also not enough work to hire someone either)...
Yes exactly. I'm doing my best dealing with it and when this job finishes then I'll decide if it's worth it. Right now it's a back and forth. I have to be more strict with my policies as you said. I take everything personally so I'm giving myself a hard time about it everyday that passes without...
Yeah that's where I've gotten to. I've done everything I can to make this smooth as possible and they can't even meet their own deadlines. At this point I'll do my best but I can make them move any faster than they want to at the end of the day. I just take stuff personally because I want the...
Not sign related, but I don't have any peers to talk to about this. So a couple of months ago I had a customer reach out about doing a bunch of work through me. It was a great opportunity to have a bigger customer than I normally do and potentially open up other customer referrals for more work...
There are two different sites. Cleancutblade.com and Cleancutblades.com only difference is an S.
The UK site states anyone purchasing blades for the US are made in the US so I'm not sure if they are related or not.
I'll give them a shot. I use their 60 deg blades for through cuts with an aftermarket holder and I occasionally get some blades that are just dull right out of the box, but for that price I can live with that. Would prefer to support a US company but if I can't get blades I'll have to go with...
Just wondering who y'all use for your plotter blades. I'm using a Graphtec FC9000 and have been having a hard time getting blades from Clean Cut. Just looking for other options just in case I'm in need of blades before they can fill my order. I know the obvious place is from Graphtec themselves...
This reminds me of when I was starting in vinyl and wanted to put an SP-540V in my second floor apartment. I'm glad we couldn't hoist it up because everything would've been a nightmare to deal with. I couldn't imagine a 64" and that thing must weigh a decent amount.
Not sure if there are other types but this backing is scored. Only matte option I see though.

Are these going to be cut individually for handouts?
One thing I've seen is putting a tab onto the through cut of the sticker shape and making a kiss cut that splits the tab from the sticker itself that way there is a small piece to grab to help aid in peeling. Can even put "Peel Here" text on...
