Are you looking specific media profiles or profiles for different print modes?

We're ink guys ourselves so take what I say with a grain of salt. We have only dealt with their UV inks, which are crap. Low quality and high-potential to damage printheads. But maybe their eco-solvent inks are better *shrug*

You will need a special scanner and software, as well as the knowledge of how to use them. A qualified technician is highly recommended. Whereabouts are you located?

Promoter is a great suggestion, though some UV inks do not require it to adhere well to ACM. Do you print white on the ACM?

To expand on this, we refuse to sell UV ink to people who use Epson heads because those heads don't have the heating element necessary to make the ink optimally viscous. Possibly heads have the heater but I'm not sure.

We have an XT and I recently had to vacuum down one half of the table, the exact situation you describe. I may look into making this modification to our machine :)

Any idea why they stopped selling?

Are there any warning or error messages on-screen? Does the coolant level stay full when you fill it? My first thought is that the coolant pump is malfunctioning/broken.

You could always use better, cheaper alternative inks for your Colorado. Of course, you will have to forego the semi-predatory contract.

Sorry not microfiber, like these. The suction nozzle should not touch the heads, that is correct, but sliding hard plastic across the heads leaves too much room for error in my opinion. Purge-swab-purge is enough in most circumstances.

Fun fact: you don't need the vacuum. In fact, you should not use it at all because you raise the risk of accidentally scratching a printhead. A wipe with a clean microfiber cloth or swab and flush is all you need. Do make sure you do it often if you use Canon's ink.

You rang? :) As they original poster found, sometimes ink is delivered that's close to the expiration date. Reasons range from global warehouses and sea shipping to indifference and profits. The solution is either buy a new bag of ink or get a replacement RFID chip. It's not a complicated...

You might consider switching inks if that happens often.

You should make sure that the glass is level at all corners before modifying anything. If you have a micrometer, measure the four corners. I don't have much experience with these types of printers, so I don't know what kinds of things go wrong.

It looks like at least one of your problems is that you are printing too high. The fuzziness around the edges is a sign that the nozzles' focal point is higher than your substrate.

Solid colors were not previously a problem or did you recently start printing more solids and the banding has become more apparent?

Keep in mind too that print quality owes much to the printheads. Kyocera heads are currently the fastest with the smallest droplet size, so consider printers that use that head (there are several).
