You probably have a shorted transistor. Do you have a multimeter?
  2. Need Help SP540V - Printing Issue - Black lines

I know you said you checked the head carriage for anything hanging down. Did you check the cut carriage also?
  3. Need Help Can I bypass Ink fill after factory reset on SP-540V

The simplest way to do this is to disconnect the cap lines from the pump and let the ink fill run its course. This way it goes through the motions without wasting your ink.
  4. Question Versacamm 300 VS Pump Replacement

Make it easy and run a tube from the second waste port to the waste tank. Easier than trying to find a cap that would be secure.
  5. Need Help SP540V - Printing Issue - Black lines

Jester1167, that's the nice thing about being able to flip them. Being a tech, I actually remove the strip from the printer, but that can be scary for a lot of operators. We all trying to give the best advice we know! Even with all the experience I have, I still pick up things from the posts here!
  6. Need Help SP540V - Printing Issue - Black lines

I agree with Jester1167 this does not look like an encoder induced problem. And I agree with KatePhillips the deflecting nozzles are the most likely culprit. As the OP is planning to clean the encoder strip again, I have offered him the method I have used time and again and is a integral part...
  7. Need Help SP540V - Printing Issue - Black lines

This is the best way to do this. You will need gloves, a clean microfiber cloth and acetone. Yes, acetone... It will not damage the encoder strip in any way. 91% alcohol is ok, but doesn't get all the ink off. NEVER use alcohol less than 91% as the water content in 70% alcohol will soften the...

So, do we have an update on this issue?
  9. Question SP540V cutting not exact

Will probably be easier. Had an experience with an older Vinyl Express where nothing worked except scraping.
  10. Question SP540V cutting not exact

It is a real pain, I know. You will want to pull the old one off gently, hoping the adhesive comes with it. You might consider this -https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07C9H9XG7/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 - to help remove the residue.
  11. Question SP540V cutting not exact

If it is always in the same area, examine the cutting strip in that area. If there are grooves in the strip, it probably needs replacing. If you replace it, be sure to remove ALL the residual adhesive left from the old strip, otherwise you will have bumps in the strip, which will give you other...
  12. How to fine tune head carriage height on an XC-540

Roland doesn't have this as a tool. Try this, should be close enough... https://www.amazon.com/RMP-090-3003-Aluminum-Sheet/dp/B00HRHB3A0/ref=sr_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=Aluminum+Sheet%2C+0.080%22&qid=1605039003&sr=8-4
  13. How to fine tune head carriage height on an XC-540

If the head carriage isn't level or is too low, you can adjust it in the following way. You will need a flat shim plate around 4"x8", can be larger, that is about 2.2mm thick. you will need to position it someplace on the platen. Raise the head carriage to the high position, and carefully move...
  14. How to fine tune head carriage height on an XC-540

If you put the carriage over the platen, does the head carriage seem level or is it tilted in any way?
  15. How to fine tune head carriage height on an XC-540

The wiper assy height is tied into the head height and adjusts automatically. Is this the scratch you are talking about? - see attached pic. If so, look under the head carriage for something in that area. It looks like something is sticking down too far.
  16. How to fine tune head carriage height on an XC-540

Is the wiper cover pulled all the way forward? Those screws are not related to carriage height. You need to see exactly what is hitting the head carriage. Put the printer in service mode, lower the caps and move the head carriage back and forth to see what is hitting.
  17. RIP Control Panel

That really sucks. I hate the whole Win 10 app approach. Try using Classic Shell. Gives you a Win 7 interface. Hopefully it will still work...
  18. How to fine tune head carriage height on an XC-540

It looks like it is sitting high on the right side. Make sure the cover is in the 4 locator slots and pulled forward and lock it in place. The pic shows the location of 2, there are 2 on the opposite side.
