  1. Versacamm (always black) head deflecting

Likely too late, unfortunately. But what will it hurt to try!
  2. Versacamm (always black) head deflecting

This is not uncommon with the older Roland printers using OEM ink and DX4 heads. The black ink uses carbon black as a pigment, which is rougher on the printheads than the other pigments. The best thing is to print something every day. If you know how to get into service mode, you might want to...

  4. Profile Maker Usb Dongle License

Don't know your budget, but an i1 Pro would be a much better choice and more versatile. If you do go with a DTP-41, try to get a USB version. If it is a serial port version, then you will need a serial port card for your computer. If you are using a laptop, there are only certain serial to USB...

  6. Need Help Vs540 magenta firing issue

A tip on damper replacement - lightly wet the manifold post and the damper O-rings with cleaning fluid when installing them. It makes for a better seal and is easier to push the dampers all the way down. If the dampers are new, then consider removing them, wetting everything and reinstalling them.
  7. Convert vj1204 to rj900x

Aha! Understand the desire to eliminate chips and get more speed. However, several things to consider. If you have been running solvent ink in your 1204, then you will need to change out ink lines, dampers, maintenance station, and thoroughly flush the print head. So, it's possible to convert it...
  8. How to fine tune head carriage height on an XC-540

It is a silver cover on the front of the capping station. There is a screw on the right side. Loosen it and you can move it forward all the way and it should clear. Make sure all the slots on this cover are seated in the guide tabs. If this isn't clear, post a pic of the front of the wiper...
  9. How to fine tune head carriage height on an XC-540

I presume the head carriage is hitting the front metal cover of the wiper station? If so, you can loosen the screws and move it forward and that should take care of your problem.

  12. Roland VS 540 ghosting image

I expected to see this, but felt it was worth a shot. After doing some more research, I may have a different solution. There is an issue with VS series where something called block printing can occur in specific areas of the carriage. Roland's solution is an upgraded carriage board, which is an...
  13. Need Help Left magenta keeps firing all the time - fautly test print!!!

What was the reason for removing and flushing the head? How did you flush the head? Printheads are not typically removed for cleaning and flushing. They are very fragile internally and it is easy to damage them by flushing with too much pressure. In your case, the wrong ribbons initially...
  14. Help with Mutoh RJ900X

What kind of ink system do you have, bulk or sealed cartridges. If a bulk system, check that the vent hole is clear. If sealed cartridges, is there ink in the cartridge? Seems like a dumb question, but sometimes cartridges run out, but the printer's ink detection system doesn't get triggered...
  15. Roland VS 540 ghosting image

It's located on the backside of the print head carriage and the encoder strip goes through the U shaped part. When the printer turned on, there should be a bright red light emitting from it. To change it, power off. When positioning the new one, it must be centered over the encoder so the strip...

  17. Roland VS 540 ghosting image

Oh boy, this is going to be a tough one. It seems that is a physical position issue, meaning it consistently occurs in a fixed area, as you stated in the beginning. As you have replaced the encoder strip, I think it could be one of two things. First, the encoder sensor could be getting weak...
  18. Linearization and profiling

Exactly what does your post have to do with the subject matter, which is a sublimation profiling question?
  19. Linearization and profiling

In addition to multiple scans, as suggested by Pauly, you might also try scanning at a slower rate, as the i1 samples at a certain rate. This would give you more samples per patch and might help. The reflectivity of the material is always an issue in sublimation fabric profiling, which is why...
