You haven't verified whether you're working with a raster file or vector.
  2. Question Is there a way to distribute shapes like this in illustrator?

    don't see my script listed
  3. Question Is there a way to distribute shapes like this in illustrator?

In illustrator? Pretty sure scripts are limited to Function keys. I just add an an icon to my workspace in corel.
  4. Convincing a customer that their file is low resolution

Yeah, I pretty much do the same snippet but I try the other methods to get the logo first. Website first, a lot of times there'll be an svg file. If that doesn't work, google "Company Name" FileType: pdf. Usually get a vector from a pdf. Email the web builder and ask for a vector. Lastly, do a...
  5. Map Drawing Line issue

    What software are you using?
  6. Question Is there a way to distribute shapes like this in illustrator?

Yes, that's pretty much what the script does & then it deletes those lines after.
  7. Question Is there a way to distribute shapes like this in illustrator?

Still only equally "spacing" the shapes, not distributing equally across the artboard.
  8. Question Is there a way to distribute shapes like this in illustrator?

To be fair, corel, doesn't have this capability either, that's why I created macros to do it. A lot easier to run corel macros than illustrator scripts.
  9. Question Is there a way to distribute shapes like this in illustrator?

I actually made two scripts, 1 for vertical spacing too.
  10. Question Is there a way to distribute shapes like this in illustrator?

A good example would be if each of the shapes were text headings and you wanted to ensure they're equally/evenly spaced on the sign blank. You wouldn't want the text to align butt up against the left or right side.
  11. Question Is there a way to distribute shapes like this in illustrator?

I have a script that will do it, just thought I'd check to see if it already existed.
  12. Question Is there a way to distribute shapes like this in illustrator?

I must be missing a step, I can only get to to distribute to the edges to either the artboard not "within the artboard" or distribute equally between the selection.
  13. Illustrator "outline view" vs. corel "Wireframe view"

In Corel under View it's called "wireframe", nothing about outline. In illustrator under View it's called "Outline". In Flexi, under View it's called "Show Fills". And, yes, it works as I believe it should. Allows you to see through text and shapes.
  14. Illustrator "outline view" vs. corel "Wireframe view"

The answer to my original post should have been a simple, no. I've been doing this for 30 years and see it as imperative to see through text.
  15. Illustrator "outline view" vs. corel "Wireframe view"

Here's another case where it would be beneficial. Cut this font in vinyl. what the! Quick check in outline view. "I see nothing wrong" Oh wait! Quick check in corel!
  16. Illustrator "outline view" vs. corel "Wireframe view"

So, how would you check to see what anomalies may be lurking behind text? Still an illustrator fault in my book.
  17. Illustrator "outline view" vs. corel "Wireframe view"

In corel it can remain as text. Chock that up as another illustrator fault.
  18. Illustrator "outline view" vs. corel "Wireframe view"

In illustrator is there a way to see a "complete" outline/wireframe view like corel does it.
  19. Randomly cutting my designs twice using Rasterlink tool for Illustrator

With using Coreldraw & the FineCut plug -in, I was able to incorporate a "fail safe" macro whereby throwing a caution pop up message if there were intersecting lines detected once you hit cut. Worked great for this and also if you had overlapping text characters i.e. AX. You could then go back...
