Hmmm, I don't want the boundaries that the clipping mask produces. The black box is the actual boundaries of the clipping mask, not only that you'd still have the full image which increases the file size. I'm after a true "cropped" section of the image.

Ok, I figured it out. I didn't have the rectangle in the front. Works fine if the rectangle is completely within the image, however, if I just want a corner of an image the clipping mask will be the same size as the rectangle instead of a "crop out" of the image.
