  3. Contour Cutting Window Perf

Same here. Different printer and plotter but yeah we have to "ink" in the registration marks and put transfer tape along the perimeter to get the plotter to read all.
  4. Question Best shop temperature?

Transfer tape not sticking could be more of an issue with humidity. Our shop is anywhere between 65F and 75F. We don't bother with any dehumidifier, hasn't been an issue in the 17yrs I've been with the co.
  5. Weird Flexi 21 issue (displaying wierdness)

Design PC should be exporting for print to a "Hot folder" linked to the Flexi RIP. That eliminates the need to "open" the file and print. We have a dedicated PC for the Flexi RIP. All designers export their files the hot folder for print. The Print Tech can then manage priorities and/or what...

  10. New to Graphtec and Cutting Master - imported lines not showing up

Agree. There is "print ready" vector files but they may not be "cut ready". A vector shape with a fill & oultine/stroke for example will be cut as two shapes or an unwanted "double-cut". Print ready may use white that may not be needed for cut. Gets complicated but...just saying

  13. Work Hazards

    1. I have slat wall behind my desk. One day I was chugging away at designing and all of a sudden I see this snake slowly slivering thru the slats right behind my monitor. 2. Our A/C wasn't working, went to check outside circuit breaker panel and a snake was coiled up inside. 3. I'm plugging away...
  14. How to install large vinyl?

We've found that if the hinge falls on the actual vinyl the tape can sometimes cause some "texture" effects in the vinyl. Center hinge is fine, whatever floats your boat. If it can be broken apart just hinge it just cut between text and squeegee sections at a time. p.s. a necessity when applying...
  15. How to install large vinyl?

I don't remember the ratio. We used that "back in the day". We use RapidTac now. Usually only use it on acrylic and glass.

  17. How to install large vinyl?

  18. How to install large vinyl?

Are you able to keep it as one piece i.e. masked in layout? Line it up, center it etc. once you got it, tape a "hinge" at the bottom edge. Pull the backer off and fold it back using it to hold the vinyl straight. It can be done dry but you could also use a soapy alcohol solution. You can split...

Don't use Algerian Regular. lol Algerian Basic D Regular
  20. CutContour, whats so difficult?

It's not as straight forward as one would think. We use a slightly different approach whereby the cut contour line color is irrelevant just as long as it's there that's all that matters. Sending an eps file that is comprised of gradients is just asking for trouble. I can't stress enough that pdf...
