  1. What do you use to create ICC color profiles?

Hi all! Someone suggested I create my own color profiles and life would be much easier.. He recommended the xright i1 basic pro 2. After researching this, I see they are up to pro 3 now. And have pro 3 plus. Since I really know nothing about this, I'd like to be put in the right direction...
  2. Need Help Rectangles are bowed when cut.

Well here's an update: I did the media and OPOS calibration. And set it to OPOS X. I cut the media and it cut perfectly!!! The drive roller did rotate abit but very slightly and I'm sure that was to compensate for any skewing going on. So the OPOS XY_Align was the culprit ALL this time and...
  3. Need Help Rectangles are bowed when cut.

Just saying, if you are having issues reading the marks, instead of putting tape, which can be a long task, just do a OPOS Media Calibrate. The cutter will recommend the proper setting. That's what I'm doing now.
  4. Need Help Rectangles are bowed when cut.

I think you got this thing nailed! I just got off the phone from Jeff at ND Graphics and that is what he told me too. The OPOS line was made to help compensate for the bowing in HP Latex printers. He suggested to remove that and go standard OPOS X. It kinda seems I have this ongoing issue...
  5. Need Help Rectangles are bowed when cut.

If that could be the case then I should try a roll of semi-gloss lam and see if that stops any issues. I mean if the crops marks are being read wrong and the OPOS line is glared then this may be an issue. Or turning down the sensitivity of the OPOS reader. I sure hate testing!
  6. Need Help Rectangles are bowed when cut.

I am using Mimaki JV150-160 Eco solvent inks. Orafol 5650RA media with gloss lam. The thing here is that I drew a perfect rectangle in both SignLab and Adobe Illy. But the rectangle is being cut with a slight arc. The cutter is actually moving the vinyl to cut an arc. I know reflective...
  7. Need Help Rectangles are bowed when cut.

    No worries.
  8. Need Help Rectangles are bowed when cut.

No. As I said in the post, the main Gold knurled drive roller is rotating meaning that an arc is being cut when it should be a straight line. Rubber pinch wheels are clean and this is not the problem. Basically the Summa is interpreting an arc for a straight horizontal line. Thanks for your...
  9. Need Help Rectangles are bowed when cut.

I have a Summa S2T160 and Signlab 10. I printed a few rectangles 2" x 48" with a 1/4" black border. The rectangles are lengthwise going across the cutter, parallel to the cutter. All crops marks are read fine. When cutting the long lines of the rectangle, it cuts a slight arch on both top...
  10. Summa S2 T160 cutting skewing

To put a roller in each slot would come to $1800.00 I think I'll try it one roller at a time to see where it will run true.
  11. Summa S2 T160 cutting skewing

Just my two cents here but if they help to cut reflective, why aren't they included? They provide a special 60 deg. blade because reflective is thicker, then spare pinch wheels should be included to help keep the heavier media running straight and true so it can be cut. I will figure this...
  12. Summa S2 T160 cutting skewing

Cutter pressure depth was 160g then brought it down to 140g to reduce drag. Acceleration was brought down to .5gs, velocity down to 8 in/sec. The 60 degree blade was also used and it's brand new. The vinyl is also lined up in the machine to reduce any skewing due to the 80" length.
  13. Summa S2 T160 cutting skewing

Good Good point on the media select kit. Yes they are pricey, but the cutter needs it to cut the heavy materials. Are these dummy pinch rollers or are they like the ones on the far left and far right that have two pressure settings?
  14. Summa S2 T160 cutting skewing

I recently purchased a Summa S2 T160 1 month ago. Been very pleased so far. Today I had some striping to cut. It's an 8" wide stripe by 76" long with two 1.5" wide stripes one on each side of the 8" stripe. Stripes are printed with a 1/4" black pinstripe. Material is 3M IJ680CR and a gloss...
  15. Mimaki 400mm square cut test

I have a barely used Mimaki CG130SRlll (1.5 yrs old) that is cutting way off when doing contour cutting. I stumbled upon this 400mm square test cut and wanted to know if there is any info I could receive from anyone that could help me with this. It cuts the first decals fine, but gets...
  16. Mimaki CG130SR3 not reading intermediate crop marks in SL10

I recently purchased SL10. Setting up ques in VPM. I have my Mimaki cutter set up to read registration marks in Signlab printed in VPM. The cutter will only read 3. 1,2 then the top right for the third one. It will not read segmented crop marks. Now, I removed the segmented crop marks and...
  17. Mimaki CG SR3 Segmented crop mark detection

I finally figured it out. Mimaki USA didn't come thru. After two weeks and a Mimaki tech from Canada, I found out that your crop mark detection on the plotter can be set to any of the 1, 2A, 2B, or 3. But NOT 4 for the crop mark detection. Once set, it will work fine.
  18. Mimaki intermediate mark problems

    I feel your pain....
  19. Mimaki intermediate mark problems

You cannot add marks in Rasterlink when you are using a CGSR3. Making marks in Rasterlink will only be read if you have a CJV150. The problem is you need to draw a rectangle to make your crop marks. This really doesn't make any sense at all because you cannot duplicate the same crop mark setup...
  20. Mimaki intermediate mark problems

I am having the same issue. It really has nothing to do with thicker marks or filled in. It has to do with the cutter not knowing it's looking for intermediate crop marks. You'd think that because you made the crop mark in Finecut8 That this info would be sent to the cutter and the cutter...
