It would be able to do the attached example automatically? Takes me about 2 min in photoshop/illy . How long would it take in this software, drag and drop and it is done?
Image one day:
drag and drop an image of a boat on a lake into AI RIP and say into your headset 3"x4" contour cut of boat with .25" white outline. Artificial Intelligence completes the request.
That is the power/potential of AI from my understanding and where things should be headed
All the...
Yes it is but if I'm going to open the file in Ps I might as well add the cutline, bleed etc there and have production ready file so I don't have to mess with more settings in another app like truefit (as far as cutlines go). I still plan on checking it out for nesting though
These types of...
Not quite there yet, I've looked at those and they would still require a customer supplied file to be cleaned up in photoshop/illustrator, background removed etc. In most cases.
I'm talking about a customer sends a picture of their dog sitting in grass and wants cut out stickers of the dog.
Or...
It would be nice to have an AI software that could make print/cut ready contour cut sticker files. Open a folder with a bunch of customer submitted images and the software spits out ready to print/cut files with cut lines, bleed etc. all done as good as a human using illustrator
I've only done double sided a few times but it is pretty reliable at getting within 1/4" to 1/2" inch front/back alignment. There is a couple of feet of material waste so doing small jobs isn't as efficient but if doing half or a whole roll at a time the waste is negligible. There will be a...
You will get less grainy light colors, possibly smoother gradients. but will the average customer notice the difference, probably not.
Dissadvanges = slower print speeds and higher ink cost
I used to have my roland set up with LC and Lm and switched to 2cmyk, way faster and no visual...
Gives me an idea for a game, "sign shop simulator", Imagine playing around with a virtual Inca Onset x3 paired with auto board feeder and Zund. Final Boss level requires you to print 250 boards per hour with files made in Canva

I like the ease of doing it on a flatbed since it is much easier to get perfect cuts compared to dialing in setting on roll 2 roll but roll2roll is definitely cheaper to scale.
I've seen a few companies use laser cutters now, seems faster compared to knife but...
2022 HP revenue $59.73 Billion
2022 Canon revenue $30.3 Billion
Both companies have a very diverse product ranges, wide format printing is a drop in the bucket for either company. They'll be alright either way
I try to get 45 minutes every night while my son plays Portal 2, pretty good educational game for him.
But I haven't watched TV or a movie in probably 5 years, I guess most people would be watching TV at this time
