These look like Euro currency symbols.
I have seen this many times before and always thought that was some sort of copyright or security on the logo.
But looking futher I reckon it is some sort of funtion such as a fade or special effect that signlab doesn't understand.
As Signlab goes their has...
No it prints from both sides of the head in any mode.
The issue with wrong colours is that it lays down ink on passing over and back in bi-directional.
Always better uni-directional as the resolution of the print will be better.
Also lays down more ink.

This topic has been covered plenty of times.
It has always been very very hard to work out ink costs in sq ft as no print uses a standard ink amount.
Personally we run a bulk ink system in our Vaulejet and to be honest the cost of ink is so negligible now it makes it very difficult or impossible...
I can't find an image of the sensor.
But you should be able to disconnect it and once you have installed some new ink carts it should work.
To get your existing ink carts to work you will have to change the smart card for new.
As once the sensor for ink end has been triggered the smart card...
Their is a sensor that when the ink gets too such a point it pushes a piece of plastic out on the cartridge.
This activates a sensor to say ink end. Have you changed this sensor?

I tried it as I had some old stock lying about.
The answer is NO it doesn't work.
The Ink on solvent machines just soaks into the media and you would have to probably double or triple pass for it to become anywhere useable.
As for longevity, aqueous or water based media was really never much good...
I don't know about what Black Friday is like in the US and elsewhere in the world but here in the UK it's pathetic.
This morning I came into over 60 emails from suppliers and other company sales of which 44 were Black Friday deals.
Our main supplier of printable vinyls were doing some deals...
We have an Easymount 1600SH top heated laminator which we purchased second hand.
Although this is so much better than our old chinese cold laminator.
I am still having issues with getting prints to run straight and no matter how I install them it still runs off after a couple of metres.
Also...
What sensors have you replaced?
Is it the sensor that reads the protrutition from the cartridge or the smart card sensor?
The "LifePumpEnd" can be reset in the maintenance menu.

I would be thinking if the gears have stripped then the maintenance station is way over due for replacement.
I am currently changing the complete maintenance station at least once a year.

You have probably moved the head cables when replacing the damper.
Reseat the cables and try again.
Or whilst changing the damper you have managed to drop a little ink on the head cable plug and shorted something out.

You can ehance the view in signlab but all it does is slow how fast it redraws.
If you go back to earlier versions very little has changed visually in signlab.
Yes it will run adobe addons but that's about it.

I wouldn't think you could install the 1614 firmware on a 1604 board (I may be wrong though).
Maybe it has had a newer 1614 motherboard fitted, as I would think the connections would be the same and it should run.
Oh just checked on digiprints site, and the boards are the same...
Yes I have tried 9.1s RIP and it is as bad as ever!!!
Colours do not match and a lot of the resolutions and print modes on my Mutoh Valuejet are not supported.
I would love to use Signlabs RIP.
But honestly I can understand having issues on a few colours but every colour you print of using one...
